I'm now finally all caught up on TBBT! Go me, go me! *throws confetti*
Yes, Sheldon is still my favorite part of the show. Honestly, I watch for him - BTW, my mom loves him too! I have to admire Jim Parsons for being able to keep straight face while spouting utter nonsense! XD And would you believe that he's from Texas too?
Though I have to say that I don't like Penny much. Sure, she's cute and very down-to-earth, but she's... yeah, okay, she's dumb. But what I dislike most about her is the derisive way in which she speaks about the guys' hobbies. I loved it when Sheldon called her on it in 114 and pointed out how hypocritical she was, scoffing at their comic books and their fan figures and all that while wearing Hello Kitty panties and collecting stuffed animals on her bed. I cheered! Yeah, her ridicule chaffs a lot. And what does she and Leonard actually talk about when they are not having sex?
But I digress. I love, love the humor! Sheldon and McKay - guys who brighten my day with their caustic remarks! Awesome! And a new episode on Monday! \o/

It's just that she hangs out with geniuses all the time so her intellect pales in comparism. But she is usually perceptive - Sheldon, for all his brilliance can be incredibly dense in getting a clue - and she has a good memory - I loved the scene where she recited how and why Sheldon chooses his spot on the couch to Bernadette from what Sheldon told her years before.
And she is usually a pleasant person but when she gets really angry, she also lashes out and gets really mean. Deriding Leonard for liking his comic books and figures was one example. I don't think she really looks down on it all so much as she was just angry because the hobby - the timemachine clocking up the stairwell - had led to a really bad day on her part.
Her telling Howard he'd be alone and miserable forever was another of those lashing-outs and despite Howard being an obnoxious perv a lot of the time, I found that incredibly cruel. Like someone would say to her no guy would be interested in her other than as a bed-bunny and that for just a few more years.
So, yeah, she definitely has her moments of meanness but I generally like her. I just don't think her and Leonard really fit together. It just seems geek wish fulfillment to have them be a couple.
