I freely admit that I skipped parts of this ep - they were pushing my embarrassment squick button too strongly. There's a big difference between being funny and being embarrassing. Hey, writers! Go re-watch S1 - and tone down Shawn's stupidity!

The guest stars were awesome! The case itself was awesome! I loved how Shawn figured out that Snowden was the bad guy. And how he saved Bonaventure's life. And how he figured out that Snowden had a partner. Those were awesome, awesome things!

The rest was just too embarrassing. I skipped the whole pizza thing and the whole think tank too. Way over the top and not at all funny. It's NOT funny when the writers turn Shawn into some lazy idiot savant. Too much is just too much!

Two more eps to go this season. Promo for 415!

It's kinda pushing my squick buttons too. I must admit I loved most the second season and then the episode Shot in the dark, but lately it's getting a little not so funny so much as cringe worthy. Let's hope they will get back on track soon.

Exactly! Cringe worthy, that was the wording I was searching for. It's just not funny anymore :(( Maybe I will finish the Psych tie-in that I started reading some time ago to get out of the flunk with this show. I don't know what exactly changed, but something changed about the series. Maybe it's White Collar's fault - after I started watching WhiCo, I fell out of love with Psych a bit because I started comparing WhiCo's very intelligent humor to Psych embarrassing escapades...

Hm, dunno, but I doubt it's WhiCo's fault. I felt something off with Psych before I watched WhiCo or Mentalist, or whatever show. I think it's Psych that's going down. The humor used to be funny, now it's just... I really watch the episodes with the forward button pushed down most of the time.

I totally agree with leoraine with the use of the word "cringe-worthy." Psych occasionally hits my embarrassment squick, and just thinking of the last episode is making me squirm unpleasantly. And I just watched most of season one again a few weeks ago, and the comparison makes these new episodes even more cringe-worthy. I have hope for next week's episode (mostly because I have a soft spot for Lassiter-centric eps) but not too much hope, unfortunately. Psych really needs to shape up, or else I'm going to stop watching. :(

Yeah, it feels like the writers are trying too hard and the results are getting worse and worse. I'm thinking of leaving the writers a tweet over on Twitter, mentioning it. I miss the feel!good feeling of S1.

I too have hope for next episode, though it's purely for the fact that if it will be Lassiter-centric, Shawn won't have so much opportunity to make an *idjit* from himself, he'll be busy doing it to Lassiter. (I'm also interested in the ep, after watching all off the Jericho and seeing Lassie as Constantine *shiver*. That man can play a great psycho if he wants to, lol)

I have high hopes for the season finale. Last season finale was amazing so I hope that they can keep it up this year. And they promised us a twist that nobody would see coming...

omg true facts on the cringeworthyness. I think I watched about 30 minutes possibly less of the episode, skipped the pizza thing and all the stuff with the "think tank" both when they were working for the bad guys and for the SBPD. The way they portrayed Shawn was just so obnoxious!

I haven't seen this week's ep yet but I hope that it won't be as painful to watch as last week's *cringes*
