And the next SGA book is also up, first in the new "Legacy" series: "Homecoming - Legacy Series Book 1" by Jo Graham and Melissa Scott. Synopsis:

The first of a six book series set after the end of Stargate Atlantis' final season, "Homecoming" sees Atlantis return to the Pegasus Galaxy. But the situation in Pegasus has changed. The Wraith are on the verge of unification under the new and powerful Queen Death. She stages a daring raid with one goal: the capture of the only man able to give their ships hyperdrive and lead them to Earth - Dr. Rodney McKay. "Stargate Atlantis: Legacy" is an exciting new book series from Fandemonium Books coming in 2010. As the fantastically successful "New Jedi Order Series" did for "Star Wars", "Legacy" takes "Stargate Atlantis" fans on to uncharted new ground, exploring what happens next after the end of season five. With no reset to zero, the jeopardy for our favorite characters has never been greater as they face entirely new challenges and dangers, as well as old foes revitalized. Sheppard, McKay, Teyla, Ronon and the rest must face Wraith, Genii, and their most dangerous foes yet in a galaxy-spanning adventure to uncover the true legacy of the Ancients - a battle from which all may not return.

I'm really curious about this new series. I follow Jo Graham's LJ and what she posts about it seems very intriguing. And although it looks like Rodney is the main hero of this story, it's not so. This first book covers namely whole 6 months after EatG!

The updated list of SGA books:
February - SGA 12 - Brimstone by David Niall Wilson and Patricia Lee Macomber
April - SGA 13 (listed as 14) - Hunt and Run by Aaron Rosenberg
May - SGA 14 (also listed as 14) - Dead End by Chris Wraight
July - SGA 15 - Death Game by Jo Graham
October - SGA 16 - Homecoming by Jo Graham and Melissa Scott

Okay, I'm sorry, but "the fantastically successful 'New Jedi Order'"? No, it was NOT "fantastically successful"; in fact, it was a dismal failure. I have yet to find someone who actually liked the series, or even finished it. I used to be an avid Star Wars reader, reading and rereading all the books preceding NJO, but I could only get through the first book. After that, I read summaries out of curiosity and am so glad I didn't bother reading the torment of OOC and crap plots and sheer WTFery. Seriously, when you start up as huge an enterprise as NJO was to be and none of the classic Star Wars authors want or are in on it? (eg: Timothy Zahn, Kevin J. Anderson, etc.) Not going to work.

Er. Um, I'm sorry about that. It just ticks me off and honestly puts me off books when they compare them to NJO. This might be a great SGA series. It sounds pretty cool, in fact. I just hope that it does not do for SGA as NJO did for Star Wars because NJO killed Star Wars.

I haven't read many SW books, so I don't know :) What I want to read is the Coruscant Nights series. I have that on my wishlist on Amazon.

I'm looking forward to this new SGA series because both Jo Graham and Melissa Scott are fans a) of the show and b) of slash :P

It sounds interesting. How many books are there going to be in the series, have they said?

Six. Covering basically one season of the show. It'll be written by three or four female authors in various cooperation. And the best thing is that both Jo Graham and Melissa Scott wrote books with gay pairings in it and Jo Graham is a slash fan ;) She said that because they had to keep the books PG-13 they had to be rather creative with both slash and het hints :P
