Without going into specifics outside of a cut - boring!

The action is barely okay. But ~way~ over the top! To the point of being a caricature of B action flicks.
The characters are flat, simply flat, no emotions.
Chance is an adrenaline junkie who makes stupid, awful, glaring mistakes. Halfway through, I was rolling my eyes! He's a real asshole - I mean, he didn't even give her a bulletproof vest, instead he gave her this macho "I'm your vest!" speech. Yeesh!

Based on the pilot, I will pass on it. I might try an ep or two later on but as it is, disappointing doesn't even begin to cover it!

Wasn't there another show called Human Target in the early nineties with Rick Springfield? I think it only ran six episodes-- my memory of that one is that it was pretty good, but I don't think it's ever come out on DVD. I'm sad to hear this new adaptation sucked, but not particularly surprised. :/

Yup, there was. And I loved, LOVED it! Rick's Chance was smart but also vulnerable, obviously having PTSD after being captured and tortured in Vietnam. His team cared about him. They were all so close and they clicked!

In this show, Chance cares only about getting another adrenaline kick. Mark Valley has the looks, but not the charisma to play a character like that. The other two characters... One literally looks like a rat and behaves like a rat. They tried to established this mystery, something going on in the background but I couldn't care less.

They totally missed the point with this. Action alone's not enough. You have to actually care about the characters. I bet that people will love it, but the pilot was a huge disappointment for me :(

I am pretty sure I have at least 4 episodes on a VHS tape somewhere, but I've wished to find it on DVD, lol. Maybe this new series will at least make them come out with it! It's a shame, because every show I've ever gotten into and loved had some kind of affection or team/family bond between the characters.... that's what makes a show work for me, and when that goes away (or doesn't exist in the first place) I can't keep going with the show.

I'll probably end up liking it, mainly because I never saw the old show. It's easier for me to get into things when I have nothing to compare them to.

If you do, you'll have to tell me if it gets better then. I just couldn't stand Chance's macho attitude. As his "handler" told him, he was taking unnecessary risks with his clients just to get a kick out of it. Uhm.

That might have been set up so they could show how he changes over time. Just guessing here.

I'm most likely going to watch it because I have a friend who will watch it, and I hope to discuss it with that person. It's not high on my must watch list, though.

i never watch them, gossip girl 90210 friday night lights - none of them
but i fell in love with glee because it's not about being in highschool, its about..... well, it's just wonderful and makes you feel good and glad you watched it

I enjoyed it for the most part, although at one point I told Pip that the fight had already gone on for five minutes too long, and Pip called the husband while they were still in the meeting, so that wasn't much of a surprise. I'd probably watch it again just to see, but it looks like it's moving to Wednesdays? At least, a new ep airs on Wed 9pm. If it stayed on Sundays it would have a better chance with me because there's nothing else on, but Wednesday is Criminal Minds at 9pm.

It didn't do anything for me. And that's weird because I usually love action shows. This one was... flat, I guess. For the life of me I can't figure out. Chance just didn't click for me.

I've just been contemplating on downloading it after seeing a number of posts about it on my flist. I guess I'm putting that on a backburner, at least for now.
