At the moment, I'm reading Peter David's "Star Trek: New Frontier" omnibus and this quote made me giggle out loud:

"The Prime Directive, Admiral, last time I checked, did not first appear on the wall of the Starfleet Headquarters in flaming letters accompanied by a sepulchral voice intoning 'Thou Shalt Not Butt In,'" Riker said flatly.

*g* I really like Peter David's style!

Peter David's Deanna Troi is one of my favorite characters ever. I've read Imzadi so many times I still have lines memorized.

Oh yes, I loved Imzadi. But I read only book one so far. Riker and Troi are my favorite couple in the ST universe and I very much disliked when they made Worf a part of the triangle.

But you're right, Peter David really knows how to write female characters!
