Ausiello posted a very spoilery interview with Russell T. Davies about Torchwood: Children of Earth, so don't read if you haven't seen the show yet, but there was a part, not spoilery, that I made me totally laugh my ass off:

"I thank them for watching the show and I recommend they go watch Supernatural, because those boys are beautiful. And don’t tell me they’re brothers. [Laughs] Not in my mind."

*g* I actually laughed out loud.

I'm tempted to start watching Supernatural just to spite him. ^___^

Btw, the pic of Jack in that article is GORGEOUS.

I'm also tempted to leave this comment on that forum:

I'm done watching Torchwood, but not because of the third character death. I'm more annoyed that RTD is getting tons of credit for his awesome writing, when he lifted so much of CoE from a Quatermass story. That's what's made me lose respect for him. IMO, there's a limit to how much you can take and still call it an homage.

What's next for Captain Jack? Is he going to help a rebel alliance defeat an evil empire and their space station? How brilliant and original!

I think it's funny how he thinks he can bring Jack back (or something) for something else in Torchwood after what happened. Honestly what he did in CoE made me really really not like the character (I thought it was shoddy writing that didn't stay true to Jack's character honestly). I mean I could care less if Jack comes back for another season because his character (when I count CoE as my personal canon) is pretty much dead to me. :(

That being said RTD pisses me off in the way he disregards the fans reactions to stuff. I'm not saying fans should run the show, I'm just saying that they are your viewing audience, they'll be staying with the show over the years and yes if you're having a backlash (WHICH IT TOTALLY IS RTD) like this something is not right.

Gah.

You should post your reply. He wouldn't care but you would feel better, trust me ;)

And what's Quatermass? *curious*

BTW, I think you would like the later seasons of SPN better than the first if you weren't all that much into urban legends. There are angels and demons and archangels and Lucifer himself later on :)

I haven't seen it and I have no intention to watch it, to be honest. For the same reason I probably won't watch SGU - I HATE THE KILLING OF REGULAR CHARACTERS!

But I think it's cute that he's a fan of SPN. I read somewhere a long time ago that someone else on the TW writing team was a SPN fan too? They mentioned that Kripke did the "black-eyes" better than they with Owen...

No idea who that guy is since I don't watch Torchwood but just for that awesome comment I'm tempted to check out TW!

Sweetie, don't. I mean, TW is a great series and Jack and Ianto are an awesome, terrific couple, but you would cry your eyes out. At the end of the latest season, only two people out of a team of five survive :(

But the comment sure is lovely. The boys really are beautiful, hehe.

I didn't end up posting my comment because I saw a few that mentioned RTD taking most of his plot from Quatermass.

Quatermass was a British series that aired in the 1970s. I've never seen it, but I looked it up in Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quatermass_(TV_serial)). If you'd like to see how much RTD borrowed, I'd suggest looking at this blog (http://veggieroama.wordpress.com/2009/07/11/torchwood-children-of-earth-%E2%80%93-spoilers/). It's actually quite a lot.

I may get around to Supernatural eventually. I'm just afraid to start watching anything now, since every time I start watching a series they go into something that makes me stop watching. Prison Break, House, etc. *sigh*

LOL! I think everyone here agrees with you, RTD, about the Winchesters ^_^!
