My opinion on the backdoor pilot? I like the characters. It seems like a mellower version of NCIS but there are already strong indications that even in this show, team would equal family, no matter what Macy said. I think that we would need more scenes with the new people, see them interact with each other to get the proper feel of them. But I do hope that they will pick it up!

* I don't know if Gibbs taking McGee instead of Tony is good or bad. I mean, through that, Gibbs handed over the investigations in Washington DC to Tony. Did he do that because he trusts him to do a good job or did he just not want to take him with to LA?
* I loved the scene between Gibbs and Calen...
* The look Abby gave Tony when he ordered her to shut up about her findings on Michael. Her whispered "Tony..." And Ducky's reaction to Tony's questioning!
* And the look on Tony's face when Ziva lied to him! She actually lied him in the face. If she told him the truth, he would be still irked and jealous, but she lied! You could feel Tony literally growing cold. If there's one thing that Tony hates more than anything, it's when other people lie to him and Ziva knows it, too!

I think Gibbs' reason for leaving Tony behind in D.C. was two-fold:

I think part of it was because he knew he was going to peel off on his own for awhile and though Tony wouldn't disobey him, he would have wiggled and niggled until he found out what was going on because Tony doesn't like to be out of the loop on anything, esp. where Gibbs is concerned.

The second part is Gibbs pushing Tony out on his own. He might not know for sure that Jenny offered Tony his own team, but he knows that Tony's more than capable of running his own team. I read something about Tony's character staying but not staying. I took this to mean that Tony will be getting his own team but staying in D.C. Maybe they'll start alternating stories like they do with L&O,C.I. I don't know.

I think Tony's reaction to Ziva was part jealousy but I think the big part is, like I said, Tony can't stand not knowing what's going on around him. It's one of the things that makes him a great investigator. Wait'll next ep when he finds out that 'Michael' is somehow tied up in what's going on in L.A. He's not going to be a happy camper with Ziva. Whether Michael turns out to be dirty or not, Ziva is letting her loyalties be divided. Not good.

I would really love to see the team's reaction to Tony's refusal of his own team. I hope that it will come out one day.

Also, I hate that Ziva lied to Tony. I mean, she was there when he threw a fit in the elevator after Gibbs' lied to him. Nothing can piss Tony off as much as being lied to.

I read some spoilers too and they sound so great - maybe even too great not to feel disappointed by the end result :P

I was rather fond of the spin-off characters as well! If it does get picked up (and I think it will, it's better than NCIS' intro on JAG after all) I'm sure I'll enjoy it. Plus they get to do all sorts of undercover stuff, very fun!

I didn't see Gibbs not taking Tony to LA anything more than Tony got to go on the trip last time and ergo it was McGee's turn to get out and do something with teh Boss. Plus as it was a big case he probably wanted his Senior Agent running things back at HQ. Also who knows if Tony would have an adverse reaction to being back in LA?

I think Ziva lying to Tony at that point was mainly her not wanting Tony involved in what she thinks is her love life (if I remember she doesn't know that Michael is involved in anything yet). So it's more like she doesn't want him sticking his nose into her private business. Which honestly at this point in the game unless she wants him involved (in her private life that is) he needs to butt out. Then again Tony wants to know everything about everything.

Arguing about Arguing! hehehe!

I have never seen the NCIS' intro on JAG. I stopped watching JAG after season 2 - I love procedural but of the cop sort, not court sort.

I understand that Ziva wants to keep her private life private - though after poking into Tony's private life in S4 she should beware of glass houses and stones - but if after all she knows about him she still thinks that lying to him (and so obviously too) is the way to go...

I'm really curious about the spin-off now. It has a different feel than NCIS but you can already feel the characters' team-ness. Calen telling Mace that he just looks out for his family... Aww!
