Did you see the ratings for Monday night? House aired in its new slot, 8pm, and it brutally slaughtered Gossip Girl. It was a real massacre, blood, gore and all. Just take a look:

House: 14.87 mil., 5.5/14 demo (Adults 18-49)
Gossip Girl: 2.20 mil., 1.1/3 demo

Yes, it was a new episode. Ouch for the CW! GoGi should be their flag ship, their teenie hit show... and it gets lower ratings, viewers and demo, than Supernatural. And it even dropped in the second half-hour (more than 150 thousand viewers, too!). I mean, I know that it went up against House, that's true, but I wonder if they look the same way at SPN vs. CSI... And they want to make a spin-off ot this? For real?

They should probably switch OTH and GG around, it seems to hold together marginally better, did against Idol even.

Also ditto on the disbelief about the GG spin-off. It's in its second year only, a teen soap with some mild buzz - nowhere near the popculture phenomena Buffy was for example - and some luke-warm ratings so how in the heavens is it a good candidate for a spin-off?

Just one more year, CW, hang on one more year and then we'll never have to see each other again.

But if they switch OTH and GoGi, it'll be obvious who the sacrificial lamb is - and fans will cause a riot. I mean, I don't wish anything bad to the show, it has its loyal fans, but all I can say is - ha! Let them try and come up against a real competition for once, let them try and take SPN's path for a while! And then let us hear about which show is a disappointment!
