I like the fact that we got another "monster of the week" episode. And it was a real surprise for me that it was a real girl, a human, not a ghost or a demon or whatever.

And I loved the little chats between Sam and Dean. Sam is so worried about Dean, just the puppy eyes he keeps giving Dean make me melt.

Also, I was glad that this episode wasn't as gory as the previous ones - all the icky parts actually happened in the dark or off camera and that's always better, IMHO!

Ratings: 2.96 mil., 1.2/3 demo - ouch, ouch, ouch! *cringes* I really hope that it was just the highly anticipated CSI episode's fault and not just a taste of things to come.

I was so glad that they finally stopped to take a breath and introduced another MOTW. The main plot kept moving forward too fast for my liking during the first half of this season :(

She appeared as Clark's mom in Smallville.
She became famous back in the 80's with the movies 'Supergirl' and 'Legend of Billie Jean'

Clark's real Mum you mean? And H.Slater in the SPN episode was Danny's and Kate's mum, right?

I really enjoyed the episode. I'm sad that so many people seem bummed out by the fact that it wasn't another mile-a-minute mytharc story - that was what I liked about it! There was actual character focus, which was a refreshing change of pace this season.

Ratings down though. That's not good. I've seen quite a few people didn't realise it was back on, though.

I'm on the other hand glad that we are back to MOTW again. The first half of this season was great, don't get me wrong, but it felt really rushed compared to the previous three seasons.

And yes, the ratings are down and that's a bummer. But I hope that it was just a combination of a) Bush's speech, b) CSI's special episode and c) people not knowing it's back.

Tell me about it! I went into great detail at the end of my 4.10 recap on the change in narrative focus this season, switching from character-focused to plot-focused and the impact this has had on storytelling. I understand why it happened, and I've really enjoyed the season as a whole, but I much prefer the story to follow the characters, which is how previous seasons have been structured, rather than the characters following the story, as we've had this season. I really loved this episode. I mean, it is full of plot holes, sure, but I really didn't care. I loved that it was a solid old-fashioned creepy case file around which Dean's issues could be unfolded, season one/two-style.

As much as I love the angels, I was glad this episode happened. We don't see enough of human evil on the show, and this was really well done.

I liked that it wasn't gory, but I was really frustrated when I could barely see what was going on. A little more light would be nice, though it made for some really creepy effect.

I was happy about less gore too. I mean, I love scary episodes. Gory ones are just... ick, I guess :P
