James Swallow's "Zero Point" audiobook
Dec. 27th, 2008 01:11 pmThe "Zero Point" audiobook is read by David Nykl aka Doctor Radek Zelenka on Stargate: Atlantis. And it's really great. It introduces a classic scifi plot - the crew of the Apollo encounters a new life form - and it's emphasized by sound effects and atmospheric music.
I liked the audiobook a lot, even though Capt. Helen Sharpe, the only other character in the recording, got on my nerves a bit with her blind military approach. Maybe I'm just too used to Sheppard's attitude towards scientists in general. I mean, John is a geek in disguise so he's much more open to any suggestions from them. Capt. Sharpe was too... straight, I guess.
What I liked the best? The beginning and Zelenka's "A rock... another rock... hey, a rock! A crater... another crater... a rock masquerading as a crater..." XD He was bored out of his mind!
