Date: 2008-12-19 03:20 pm (UTC)It's not about legal reasons, it's about bigotry and fear. They are too afraid to stand up for what's right. I can't see the US signing this any time soon. And that's just sad. How can someone be fired from the military just for being gay is beyond me. How can America stand for that is beyond me. It's so dark ages that I find that simply apalling. If someone tried that here in Europe, they would have their ass in a court before they could yell for their lawyer.
