Archives... I like it when there is one big archive for one fandom - not these mixed, multiple fandom stuff libraries that are sometimes really hard to navigate. What I hate about fanfiction archives is when there are a) no pairings, b) no warnings and c) no summaries. It quite annoys me when there are only the titles of the fics and nothing else. I´m not picky about stories, but I really hate to stumble across a death story without being warned. They always make me moody and depressed and I start to cry and look like an idiot :( Yeah, quite annoying.

BTW - could someone rec me some Due South fanfiction archives? Gen, slash, don´t care. Just no het. There are enough het stories in public libraries and "normal" books. I don´t need to read them on the net too. The net I save for very special things ;)

Talking about Due South, this addy sounds really great! :)

I was rec'd these Due South archives by [livejournal.com profile] estrella30, I haven't had a chance to check them out yet so I'd love to know what you think, honey :D! Here are the archives:

1. Speranza's ds fiction (http://www.trickster.org/speranza/stories.html)
2. Resonant's ds slash fiction (http://www.trickster.org/res/#ds)
3. Due South fiction archive (http://www.squidge.org/dsa/)

P.S. Oh, I totally agree about the no pairings, no summaries thing with fic archives as there are definitely things that I like to know I am going to be reading before I read them... forewarned is forearmed as they say :D!

Pairings and warnings are definitely the two things I look for in any fanfic. If they aren't there then I say "screw it". ^^ And quite frankly I've stumbled on more deathfics than I care to read because of the mere warning of "Extreme angst". -_-;; I mean I *know* I like angst every once in a while but come on now! I always seem to cry in any kind of angst fics though and... quite embarrassingly... I got caught once by my mother. *blush*

And I know what you mean about not being enough books on anything *besides* het in libraries and such. So I live on the net (and people wonder why). However the place I do love to browse in bookstores is the gay literature section. ^_~

You have a gay literature section? Lucky you :( Here you wouldn´t find ONE book about homosexuality in the bookstores. Nothing. Zip. It´s still a big nono here :( Don´t know why :( As I said - lucky you :)

I'm not sure if every bookstore has it but if it's a big one they should. It's only like a few shelves though, compared to the other million books. *sweatdrops* But! Before I discovered them, I ordered books online. ^^
