I have a question, my dear friends: Does a bird called "luskin" really exist? My google-fu failed me, unfortunately.

And a funny quote from "Galen Beknighted": ... he asked, his gray, bushy eyebrows bunching together like mating squirrels.

Oh, and another one - that one actually made me laugh so hard that my eyes teared up: ... I assembled myself quietly, giving last attention to the polish of the helmet, its crest and its foolish feather which looked like a bird had plunged to its death atop my head... I totally giggled myself silly!

Just the opposite, luv. I needed to know if it was a real bird or a fantasy one :)

I've not heard of a Luskin - but my ornithology class was based on East Coast North American birds...

Great! I needed to know if I should be looking for a translation or it's a completely fantasy based bird :) Thank you!

What's the description of the luskin? The only thing I can find are references to Casey Luskin who apparently had some theory about bird evolution. The consensus seems to be he's a crackpot idiot. So maybe depending on when the book was written, maybe it's a reference to him or his "evolved bird" thing? http://www.caseyluskin.com/id.htm http://www.pandasthumb.org/archives/2006/01/luskin-humans-d.html http://www.pandasthumb.org/archives/2004/06/guest-column-ca.html

That's what I found too. Maybe the author based his bird on her name as a little nudge-nudge-wink-wink gesture? I needed to know if it's a real bird or just something fantasy based that needed translation. Thank you for your help! :)
