This episode was really good. It didn't have much Rodney/John banter but the ep as a whole was quite interesting. I especially loved the commentary by Martin Wood and Carl Binder, the director and the writer respectively. Especially Martin went very technical, explaining the camera angles and various cameras and how and why he chose this and that. I never thought about it until then, how different the "crazy" scenes were from the "normal" ones...

Also, from various fanfics I understand that fans thought that Sheppard didn't save Holland. According to Carl Binder, John did get him out of there alive. But then, four weeks later, Holland's helicopter was shot down and he was killed. That's why Sheppard thought that he didn't save Holland. Carl wants to include that in another ep, hopefully soon.

Oh, and the behind-the-scenes documentary was so interesting! I adored Joe Flanigan making fun of Martin Wood. Oh my gosh, the faces he was making - he really is a giggly lot X) And Paul McGillion joking with Jason Momoa, both all serious until Jason just couldn't take it anymore and started laughing! And Bambam and his stunts. You know, that man is really gorgeous! Oh, and I loved them filming in the "desert". It should have been hot and dusty, instead it was cold and rainy. As Martin Wood said - nothing convinces you better of being in the desert than 50 mm of rain X)

My favorite scene?
McKay: You shot me!
Sheppard: Yes, Rodney, I shot you, and I said I was sorry.
Ronon: You shot me, too.
Sheppard: I'm sorry for shooting everyone!

*giggles*

You know, I've been going over some old SGA con reports and when you read about Joe Flanigan's panels, you can literally feel how grateful and happy he is to be on a show that's popular enough to be picked up year after year after year. He mentioned doing 11 pilots in a row that weren't picked up and he sounded really bitter about it, especially saying that Medium was basically a rip-off of his and Navi Rawatt's Thoughtcrimes pilot. I'm so happy for him - and for us too, of course ;P - that he got the role of Sheppard!

That must have been an incredibly demoralising time for him, I really don't know how actors keep going before they hit their big break *shakes head*! Still at least he's made it now ^_^!

I don't get how the actors do it either. It would kill me. Or give me ulcers, really. When I read that report about his panel, it fairly radiated his gratefulness :) That's why I hope that he will stay with the show until it runs its course...
