TV shows...

I'm still so hurt and angry and frustrated over the cancellation of my favorite show, SGA, probably because I was so sure that Stargate Atlantis would be the one show that would be picked up for at least one more season for sure. How one can be mistaken...
And that made me think of other shows and their fate this season... So, let's make a prediction:
Bones - 50/50, it'll depend on if the writers can bring back fans that were miffed by the previous season's finale.
Chuck - will be canceled because it was never a real hit and only the strike saved it.
Eureka - will continue because the Sci-fi didn't forget to mention that it brings in the same ratings as SGA in the cancellation news.
Flashpoint - will be canceled or delegated to a stand-in or a summer show.
NCIS - will continue. The demo is bad but it draws in a LOT of viewers otherwise.
Numb3rs - 50/50. It'll depend on how the cast changes will affect the ratings.
Psych - 50/50 but if this will be Monk's last season, Psych will end too.
Smallville - will be canceled.
Supernatural - will be canceled. If the CW survives, it'll refuse to support it anymore regardless of the WB's insistence.
The Mentalist - will be canceled after 6 or 12-13 episodes because people won't watch it on principle: it airs on CBS and/or it's similar to Psych or Profiler.
The Middleman - will be canceled. The ratings are just bad.
I really wonder what shows I will watch if my prediction pans out...

Date: 2008-08-21 03:18 pm (UTC)Eureka isn't doing that well - I mean, what's the whole deal with having product placement episodes if not an indication that they're short on money?
And Supernatural is going to end? I haven't been following the news there at all, so I have no idea what's going on with it... Last I heard, it was doing well, and Kripke was the one who wanted to end it after season 5.
And Psych isn't doing well, either?
*whimper*

Date: 2008-08-21 04:30 pm (UTC)Me too. Would you believe that I actually cried my eyes out when I found out? I really cried. I didn't fell for this show until this May and now they canceled it.
Eureka is doing as well as SGA live but SGA does much better in the Live+7 ratings. And I think that Eureka is much cheaper because there are less special effects.
Supernatural does better than every other show on the CW except for Smallville. But it does bad in the teenager demo that the CW craves. The WB is pushing SPN hard because they earn a lot of money internationally but I fear that the CW won't renew it for a 5th season.
And Psych isn't doing actually bad but it's doing worse than Monk and USA Network now has shows like In Plain Sight and Burn Notice that break their ratings records so I'm not sure if USA will keep Psych when Monk ends (which will happen this season, I think).
