Riptide is LOVE!

I just finished watching Riptide's episode Long Distance Daddy. That must be one of the best ep this show has to offer. I'm not talking about the plot, but about the character interaction - yup, it's all about character interaction for me, always.

I loved it when Nick and Murray were cleaning the boat together; when Murray asked that surely, they were not running, or were they; when Cody learned that Nick was a "long distance daddy" and didn't tell Cody and when Nick said to Cody that he didn't tell him everything that was going on in his life to which Cody replied that he did; when Nick was so worried about the kids, talking all earnestly and quietly; when the guys just went to the airport, brandishing guns without knowing what was going on... I could continue on and on XP

BTW, did the bad guys really imply that the Riptide belongs to Nick? They said that Nick was the owner of the red car and that he lived on his boat in the harbor...

Conclusion? Nick and Cody are so married. Murray is still awesome and naive in a very cute way. Quinlan is still a jerk... I love the show :D

BTW, did the bad guys really implied that the Riptide belongs to Nick?

I always thought the Riptide belonged to Cody since he comes from a rich family while the Mimi belonged to Nick.

I thought so too. Maybe the guy just meant that the Riptide was Nick's home address?

Though I didn't know that Cody came from a rich family O.o

There is an episode where they have to "babysit" three rich, spoiled College girls who come to town because one girl`s parents are good friends with Cody`s parents. Before that I hadn`t known Cody comes from money either.

Excellent point about that episode. There are also a few other episodes where Nick makes snarky comments to Cody about "well, you should know, coming from your background". There's also a lot of this in Riptide fanon, with Cody coming from a wealthy background, with his parents divorced (and/or father dead) and mother living in a huge mansion "back East".

It's too bad that we didn't learn more about the guys' background :( I mean, it wouldn't have hurt if they centered an ep or so around their families, right? :(

So do we all hate Moonlighting real bad? I KNEW at the time it came on that I hated it *g* Little did I realise how much!

I liked Moonlighting, at least the first couple of seasons when it was just UST between David and Maddy. When they started a relationship, it went downhill fast and it became downright ridiculous :( That's why I'm always wary of characters in my favorite shows hooking up. Grr!

I always hated it, and THEN to add insult to injury it killed Riptide. WELL!

Fortunately, I wasn't aware of it at that time. I didn't see either of the shows until the mid-90s. But I adored Joe Penny in Jake and the Fatman then :)

Yeah, I watched Jake and the Fatman too, but I didn't like it as much.

While Perry King and Joe Penny are hot individually, the true Riptide magic (for me) is Cody & Nick's relationship. Just the hotness alone doesn't do it for me... Gotta have the snuggles to go with it :)

Well, you'll meet Murray's sister pretty soon, and that's a fun episode. *g*

And yeah, as much as I would like to know more about their families, it was nice of them to leave so much open for fanfic writers of the future. *vbg*

Cody definitely says "my boat" all the time. But then he belongs to Nick, so why not his boat, too? ;p

Oh - and Quinlan's a jerk and an ass, but I really like him (Note: this is not the same as *love*). The only reason I can cope with what happens later is because I really like Joanna too :D

The slash, slash, the slash... When Cody says to Nick "I tell you everything" - well, I mean, my God. There's got to have been some serious talking going on on the Riptide once those kids have gone, huh?

Yeah the bad guys did, but I think they probably didn't know any better. They would have just got the address, after all, probably not the boat owner.

I love the touching moments between Nick and Cody, like when one feels down and the other comforts him or is just there for him. It's just too bad that there isn't more physical h/c in this show. I think that the new series where characters get whumped on regulra basis spoiled me :P

LOL! Yeah, there could definitely be a lot more smooching. But then, if they combined hugs with the meaningful looks, I dont think they could have screened it at 7.30 in 1985... you know?

I'm a Nick!girl so I like hurt!Nick and of that, there isn't enough *pouts* I mean, there is the one ep that takes places in... Mexico, I think. And then the one where Cody and Murray want to sell the agency, but other than that, zip *pouts some more*
