Another two episodes down!
Jun. 10th, 2008 12:05 amYay, another two episodes of SGA watched, with commentaries and without: The Long Good Bye and Coup D'Etat.
In the first one, I liked the kick ass action between "Weir" and "Sheppard". I love the scene where the entities overtake them both for the first time and they start shooting at each other, leaving everybody completely confused. So much fun! For the first time, I could see real chemistry between Weir and Sheppard, as ridiculous as it might sound. And then when everybody in the command center listened to them talking over the comm! Heh! XP Also, when Teyla was ordered to shoot "Sheppard", I loved the interaction between Caldwell and Rodney: basically it came down to "McKay, break Weir's code or Teyla will have to shoot Sheppard and it'll be all your fault. No pressure or anything..." XD
I loved this exchange:
Ronon: I take Sheppard, you take Weir.
Teyla: Why?
Ronon: I know how he thinks but I have no clue how she thinks!
Also, the commentary was hilarious. In the last scene, where Sheppard and Weir are both in the infirmary, Sheppard is playing with a PDA. Actually, it was Joe Flanigan being bored between the takes and playing solitaire on Tori Higginson's PDA. When they then started shooting the scene, he just kept playing and doing his lines. The directory, Andy Mikita, loved it! He thought that it was hilarious, Tori thought that it was cute XD
In the second ep, Coup D'Etat, there were basically no special effects but I liked it very much, especially the way Sheppard kept teasing Rodney, those scenes were hilarious.
Rodney: Are we in some sort of trouble?
John: Was it the gas or the prison cell that was your first clue?
Also, Lorne's dry humor was hilarious. "So... you came to rescue us?" Wah! *giggly*
And then we get Sheppard in a tight spot once more, being threatened and taken as the first hostage to kill should Weir not comply. It's funny but he really is the damsel in distress of this show - and I love it to pieces, believe me *vbg* Oh, and Ronon went ballistic again when he found out that once again, John was in trouble. I love me some neanderthal!Ronon. I adore the relationship he has with Sheppard :)
The commentary was so funny too. They were talking about how fans reacted to the news about Lorne's untimely "death", how upset they were. The producers and writers know how much people adore Lorne and they themselves love the way Kavan Smith portrays his character (I like him too, he's sizzling hot!). Also, David Hewlett got burned by an empty shell while filming this episode. It caught him directly in the eye during one of the shoot-outs but he kept in character until they yelled cut. Ouch, ouch! Oh, and they asked why Sheppard and McKay were the only ones who had yellow protection glasses and if Sheppard and Weird did the dirty after the last scene faded out with the whole "Let's call it a night" exchange! So funny XD
Next episode: Michael!
