Hm, I'm not sure if I like the the whole "affected" thing... Because, you know, I love the brothers on the same side, saving each other, side by side and not fighting against each other! But I have my fingers crossed here. It would be interesting, if Sam now had to use his powers to keep evil!Dean in check. It would totally turn the previous direction upside down.

--> I finished a gen Riptide ficlet! A coda to the episode Somebody's Killing The Great Geeks Of America.

--> USA picks up a pair: "White Collar is a drama that follows a con man who is forced to work with the FBI in order to catch criminals. In the medical comedy-drama hybrid Royal Pains, a young doctor relocates to the Hamptons and becomes an on-call doctor for the area's wealthy residents." Could be cool! :)

Okay, so for all my spoiler-free resistence, I have seen that comment, mostly because a friend of mine was freaking out and I had to find out why before I could offer comfort!

Comments like this, that come out so early in hiatus, are always massively misleading. Look at last summer - Kripke said that Dean would be really hedonistic in season three. And he was, for a couple of episodes, but afterward? Not so much. Also, the brother's relationship has been massively effected by everything that's happened throughout the show - John's death had a massive impact, Sam's death and Dean's deal had a massive impact. The changes have always worked out as a natural result of what they are going through at any given time, and have always developed in a way that felt completely natural. I remain optimistic that season four will be great. :)

And am determined not to look at any more spoilers, as long as I can keep my friend away from them!

Edited to add: it's killing me that ages ago Sera Gamble said in an interview that season four would be Sam hunting alone, with Dean sending postcards from hell. And everyone thought she was joking...

I don't mind that Dean will be in hell. I just really really hope that the brothers won't fight against each other, or at least not for long. But it could be interesting if their roles suddenly changed and now Sam had to watch over "evil" Dean... X)

I really can't see Dean being evil - he won't be in hell long enough. John was still himself after almost a year. I'm guessing it just means another shift in their dynamic. They started out with Dean very much the leader of the pair, but have become much more equal partners over the course of the three seasons. Now it seems Sam is going to have an extended period alone, and is going to get used to being his own boss. We don't know what condition Dean will be in when he gets back, how much he will need or allow Sam to look after him until he is recovered. It will all make for another shift in the dynamic.

Mostly, though, I suspect that whatever Sam does to get Dean back will be a cause of friction.

I also think that anything Kripke says at the moment is based on the first couple of episodes only, rather than anything beyond that, because those are the ones he will be working on right now!

More than anything, I think we should all avoid spoilers. *G*
