I spent the day just lazying around since my uncle and aunt are over for a couple of days. I also read some awesome SG:A fics!

Stargate: Atlantis fic recs:
SLASH --> "Existence As Interesting As Possible" by Wax Jism. McShep pairing. After being chased by a dragon, John and Rodney are stranded on a crumpling planet together. I loved this line: He would still think of them as deer, though, he decided. Dragons, okay. He drew the line at unicorns. Heh! Words: 10.000.

GEN --> "Detox" by Jane St. Clair. McKay and Zelenka are put through a detox. Words: 3.000+

Also, issaro finished reading the first fourth of dsudis' due South fic "Hawks and Hands". Over 7 hours of podfic and that's just the first 100 or so pages of the 400 pages fic! Awesome, simply awesome!

Unicorns, dragons, and mcshep??! ♥ I can't wait to read it.

I glanced at the SGA season 5 summaries up to episode 11. I AM WILDLY IN LOVE. I mean, freaking YES. How is it possible that the show gets BETTER each season? I DO NOT GET THIS.

I mean, seasons 1-3 are kick ass, but season 4 was dark, and I ended at ep 12 right now...I am telling you, the writers did a phenomenal job fleshing out every character on the team. And I have insane love of Dr. Keller - SHE ROCKS! And Sam Carter = so much competence. GUGHHHH.

In conclusion: I LOVE SGA.

I loved the John!whumpage notices with the spoilers. I love me some hurt John! ;) And Rodney... Did you read the summary of that Rodney ep? *bounces*

YES. John's gonna be going through something called MAN PAIN, and Rodney is going to make several fanfics come alive LOL. I have seen that type of fic for Rodney, can't believe they'll make it into an actual episode. It's SO AWESOME. Reminds me of SG1 episodes where they did that with some character, I think it was Jack.

And I'm also waiting for 3 seasons of SGA to arrive any day now :P

They already shipped off S1 to me. Now my fingers itch to order S2 *itchesitches* Okay, I ordered it! *head/desk* I'm incorrigible, really. But it's just better to watch the original and listen to the commentaries etc. etc.

Do you know anything about the background of the show? Like, do the actors get along well etc.? I mean, lotsa of them appeared in David Hewlett's little movie about the dog so...

I recall watching/reading an interview where David Hewlett was saying how everybody loves everybody in the cast, and that they sometimes get together for dinner after filming. Other than that, I'm not sure who's the closest with whom.

I'm comfortable with what's being said on the interviews, and I haven't had the desire to dig up more stuff about them, because I feel the SGA cast is very mature and very professional. They give off that vibe, and I'm pleased enough to not look further, you know what I mean?

Ah, I saw the trailer of the doggie movie, and I have to say I don't think I can watch it, as much as I love DH. Ehhh... :P

Yay for lazy days! I had a very lazy birthday then spent the rest of the weekend gardening. Thanks again for my manga, I loved it, and thanks for my virtual gift *squishes you*!

Yeah, I think that sometimes, it's better not to get too invested into the background of a show. I think that's what happened with me and SPN.

Lately, it's really hard for me to get into fandom-y SPN-ish stuff. Maybe it's because so many stories deal with the angst that's Dean's deal and to have it on the show and in fics too, it's just too much. I hope that they somehow resolve the whole thing in the season finale so that we can move on.

I'm with you on the over investment part. Don't worry, we live and play, and we learn :P But with SPN, I can pinpoint exactly when/how I got thrown out of my own bubble, and I'm determined to not let that happen again.

Fics are actually awesome for me when it comes to the SPN fandom, because that's how I involve myself with the fannish world - reading fics, rec'ing them, commenting on them, and yeah, that's pretty much it.

I can squee/flail/rant at the episodes after I watch them, but lately, more often than not, I'm not getting the energy to dissect and analyze them. And frankly speaking, I'm happier that way. I do feel that SPN season three isn't what I had hoped it would be, and I've pretty much come to terms with it.

It's exactly as you said - I just want to move on from the season finale and continue on.

Back to SGA (ha, everything I say lately always end on SGA :D), I do believe it might be a conscious effort on my part to not get caught up in the behind the scenes unless it's 100% related to how they make the show :D

Plus, my beloved David Hewlett (draws a million ♥ around him) has a cute blog. I already feel spoiled. Oh David ♥
