Beta: yami_tai *smooch*

With a wave of her hand she throws the door open, the doorknob smashing against the wall, denting it. She expects to find them there, the Winchester brothers, half-asleep, shocked but unaware of what's coming for them…

But instead, she steps into an empty room. The beds are a mess, their duffels open and clothes strewn halfway through the room. She can still feel their presence. Her minions are outside, watching, guarding… making sure that the Winchesters can't leave, can't escape.

She snarls, twisting the child's lips into an ugly grimace.

And then there's a chuckle, somewhere in the dark corner of the motel room. Waving a hand, she flicks on the light, her forehead creased in a frown. She can't feel anybody else in there, so who…

"Trickster!" she spits, baring her teeth.

Chuckling, he sprawls in the rickety chair, twiddling his thumbs. "Lilith! What a nice surprise. I didn't expect you. I would have baked some cookies, you know? Little girls like cookies and milk, don't they?" he asks, like he earnestly wants to know.

Snarling, she raises a hand to disembowel him on the spot. The lamp by his right explodes, the chair splinters and deep cracks creep up in the wall behind him, the Trickster remains unharmed though.

Jumping to his feet, the Trickster yelps, "Watch the temper tantrum, child! I could have cut myself on the shards!" Carefully, he dusts off his clothes, his face smooth and unconcerned.

Lilith feels like stamping her feet. Damn the Trickster, damn him to the ninth level of Hell!

"Tsk, I would have thought that you learned by now, sweetie." Like a teacher lecturing a child, he raises a finger. "Just like the paper takes the rock, the Trickster takes Lilith." He puts out his right hand, saying: "Demi-god also known as… well, me," he puts out the other one, "and a meager demon also known as you, don't balance out, sugar bear." Imitating a scale, he raises his right hand up while sinking the other very, very low.

Growling, Lilith narrows her eyes. "Where are they, Trickster?"

The Trickster goggles his eyes innocently. "Who?"

This time, she stamps her foot. "The Winchesters, damn you! They don't mean anything to you, they are mere humans. And I want them. Now!"

He looks thoughtfully at her, supporting his right elbow with his left hand, tapping the finger of his right hand on his lips. "Oh, cutie pie, I like the boys. They are like puppies, so earnest and cuddly!"

"Trickster…!" she growls, her demons assembling behind her in the doorway.

He rolls his eyes. "Oh, plea~se, call your creepy crawlies off. This tactic didn't work two thousands year ago and it's getting boring, my dear!" He snaps his fingers and the demons disappeared with a loud popping sound, like a soap bubble bursting.

In a very un-child like way, Lilith crosses her host's thin arms. "What do you want, Trickster?"

He ponders her question deeply before brightening. "Marshmallows!"

She ignores him. "Since when do demi-gods interfere in a war between humans and demons?"

The Trickster grows serious, his face suddenly cold and harsh. "I've had it with you crawling out of Hell every millennium or so to try and end the world. So if I can aid your destruction by keeping the Winchesters out of your filthy paws, I will gladly lend them my meager abilities."

She smirks, then chuckles. "You think that those two are that important? That they could actually destroy me?" Her eyes grow milky white, shining from the inside. "I'm Lilith, Adam's first wife, expelled from Eden by the God himself!"

He rolls his eyes again. "Oh, shut up. I was here before your precious God even came to be so don't brag, squirt. But you’ve pissed me off for the last time, that I can promise you," he rumbles, his threat laced with the power of a true god-like being.

"You wouldn't dare to fight me," she snaps but she doesn't sound so sure anymore.

The Trickster's eyes narrow, shining with their own menacing light. "Try me, bitch!"

And suddenly, there are cuddly toys raining from the ceiling, piling up and up around Lilith and before she wades out of the sea of teddy bears, she's all alone in the room.

That night, the motel burns to ground, testimony to Lilith's wrath.

***

It's the snickering that wakes Dean up. Rubbing his eyes, he props himself on one elbow and…

His eyes almost popping out of his head, Dean shakes Sam awake. "Dude, wake up!"

Sam turns his head, groaning, his head still cotton-filled after last night's drinking binge. Though the look on Dean's face, his brother's wide eyes and… flushed cheeks – what the hell? – rouse him immediately. Not understanding, he turns to where Dean is pointing and… gulps, pulling the cover over his head.

They are in a bed together. In the middle of a crowded shopping mall. In their undies only! And can people die of embarrassment?

It's not until Dean sees the huge sign hanging over the bed, when he realizes that there are bright, sparkly balloons bouncing all around them and confetti still raining from… well, wherever, that his embarrassment turns into outrage. "Dude! Newlyweds?!" he yells. "I swear I will kill the Trickster one day soon! I sure will!"

The End

LOLOL that last part is as hilarious as the first part is grim. And I do hope that the Trickster will play a part in helping Sam save Dean.

Hee hee, newlyweds indeed :DDD

I hope so too. I mean, I hope that what he said to Sam at the end of Mystery Spot meant more than just the return to Wednesday :)

Thank you for your review! *smooch*

i love that the trickster tries to drown lilith in teddy bears. heeee. and i really like the idea of him playing a yet another side in the demon vs demon vs humanity thing - he's looking out for his own interests. it just happens that they coincide with people - and the winchesters - getting to live long demon-free lives.

Oh, that Trickster. I really liked this story--interesting to see parts of this war that Sam and Dean aren't aware of. I loved the confrontation between Lilith and the Trickster--such opposites, and written perfectly. Nice job.

I like the idea of the Trickster. I think it's quite a refreshing concept on the show. He is neither good, nor bad. He just looks after his own interests. And the Winchesters amuse him :D

Thank you so much for your review :)

This is just absolutely amazing. I love your take on the power of Lilith and the Trickster. Trickster being older than Lilith and possibly more powerful was neat idea and I really hope that you've started a trend with it because that would just make Trickster fic even more awesome. Also Trickster's latest play on the Winchesters at the end was hilarious.

I think that the Trickster really is more powerful than Lilith. I mean, he could revive Dean and turn back time with the snap of his fingers. He can make unreal things real by just wanting it. He doesn't have to kill and destroy, he just un-makes things. He's a real demi-god after all :) It would be awesome if he was the key to Dean's salvation.

And thank you so much for your kind words! I'm happy that you liked the story so much :)
