I finally found someone who knows the British TV series The Persuaders! and loves it as much as I do! *smishes [livejournal.com profile] the_orange_nin* Brett and Danny and their amazingly comfortable relationship... *glee*

I'm translating an interview with R. A. Salvatore at the moment. Guh, "Campbellian theory" and "deconstructionalists" and "critical analysis of literature"... Well, at least Joseph Campbell reminds me of Jared Padecki and his "the taught teachings of Joseph Campbell" XD

*is smished* Weee!

Heh. Amazingly comfortable yes.

Also, I like your little book thing in your profile. If you ever need anyone to speak of yaoi manga with? I read a ton of it. :)

Okay, off the top of my head...

Non Yaoi/Shounen-ai:
Blame
Hand's Off
Cantrella (okay so this could go either way but as far along as I am there's only been a kiss)
Yotsuba&!
Flower of Life
Black Sun, Silver moon
Saiyuki
Antique Bakery (Hell, anything by Fumi Yoshinaga owns my soul)
Trash
XXXHolic

Shounen-ai:
Banana Fish (Best. Thing. Ever.)
Roureville (I just started this one and I'm *so* in love with it)
Let Dai
Legal Drug
Tokyo Babylon (just... *sob*)

Yaoi:
Gorgeous Carat
Earthian
Gerard and Jaques
Fake Fur
Desire
Alone In My King's Harem (again, Lily Hoshino is also a favorite of mine)

See when I first started into Yaoi manga I downloaded a *ton* of scanned stuff. Lots and lots of one shot smut. Which yay! But now I'm a bit burnt out on that and I've started (slowly) collecting some of the longer series.

First thing first - I'm in love with your icon! Captain Jack rulez! :D

And now manga:
Hands Off - so so good, especially the angsty relationship between the cousins!
Cantarella - beautifully drawn, but it's You Higuri afer all and she owns me :D
xxxHolic - makes me all kinds of giddy :D
Gorgeous Carat - hands down the best manga that I've read. EVER. And the only manga that I actually wrote fanfics to O.o
Earthian - happy sigh...

And most of the others you have listed :D I used to download scanlations too but it's not the same as holding the book in your hands!

BTW - tell me more about Banana Fish? I thought about buying it...

I also want to buy GetBackers because, dude, there is almost a canonical threesome O.O I will list my manga in another reply because this one would be too long...

Oh just John period rules. *happy sigh* Dude also, have you seen that vid of Gareth singing at his last concert? *is going out on a hunch that you like Ianto as well* Dude it's... *drooool*

Hands Off- Oh *god* I know! I was (and still am but not in the same way) sooo obsessed with that series. Hell they may have been cousin's but mmmmm *has no inhabitions anymore* Also, OMG the last volume. I still am just *dude* over that.

Cantarella- It's sooooo purty and oh my gosh yes about her owning like everyone. She's so good at what she does and I love period stuff. And she does so much research. *heart*

xxxHolic- Jesus, have you been keeping up with that lately? 'Cause I do believe something is *finally* going to happen and I'm all sorts of giddy.

Gorgeous Carat- Fwehehehehe. Goddamn I love that series. I seriously hope she does actually get to write more of it because... wow. And not that I don't love Galaxy... but it was more like a sidestory than any sort of continuation.

Earthian- Cried *so* hard at the end of that and it's not like it was even that... bad or anything. It was just such a... sweeping tale y'know?

Getbackers! Omg I love love love this series (my best friend just splurged and bought *everything* that you can for the manga of this series so I'm finally getting to read it ^_^) I own the anime for it and it is soooo good.

Alright, how do I even start with describing Banana Fish? Well it's 19 volumes long (I'm on 8!) and it started in the 80's and just finished a few years ago I do believe. It's about this gang leader called Ash Lynx and how he basically takes on his old sugar daddy Papa Dino and his developing relationship with Eiji. It's all centered around this drug called Banana Fish that basically fries a person's brains after making them super strong and insane. Obviously with 19 volumes there's a ton more going on but that's basically the main story. It's listed as Shoujo but it's unlike any Shoujo I've ever read. It's fairly violent, gritty (also set in New York just so you know) and she likes to focus on plot more than the Shounen-Ai and I love it so, so, soooo much. Oh also, the art does start off a tiny bit iffy (it's very 80's, shocking for a series from that, I know) but it improves as you go along.

I love how comfortable John is with his sexuality, you know?

Oh my, Hands Off, how much I loved the series. And the last book... So good! *flails*

I have to catch up on xxxHolic. I think that the last book that I have is number 7? Hm, I think so... *scratches head* I so need to catch up on the series!

Banana Fish sounds very interesting. As soon as I finish some of the series and catch up on some others, I will have try that one *nods*

And you know what? I just found out that the German amazon is selling Persuaders (Die Zwei in German) with the German dubbing too! I might buy this one *happy*

Weeee! I didn't list all my manga since I was away from it at the time of my writing of that post and because some of the ones I've listed aren't mine, they're actually my best friend's I just love them sooo.

And no, scans are not like the book. I'd definitely get the book over the scan but if it's not been liscensed and I don't know if it will? Then I'll download it.

Demon Diary- Oooo, this was one of my very first manga's (or within that time period I think) and it's soooo great. Weeee!

Incubus - Damn. I've read the second volume of this (looked and could not for the life of me find the first one) and it was fabulous!

Eerie Queerie - *chuckle* I think this was like the first shounen-ai series I actually bought. Looking back on it it's rather tame isn't it? But fun. And I don't know if you got this but on the forth book I have for it it has a Parental Warning and it confused the hell out of me.

Innocent Bird - Oh my gosh. This one is actually a case of read the scan first and then the books actually got liscened!

Petshop of Horrors - Eeeee! *huggles it*

Wild Rock- Mwahahahaha. What's *not* to love about this book?

And yeah, read most of those as well. Damn, you've got good taste. *winks*

I just asked a friend of mine to buy some manga for me in Germany. The US market has great series but in Germany, there are some manga out that haven't been published in the US yet. Like Gestalt by Yun Kouga (I saw the OVA to it and it's really good) or The Demian Syndrom *points at her icon* or Ja Dou, both by Mamiya Oki...
