Pissed off like you wouldn't believe it!

You know the archive Fictionised? Two years ago, I became a member of it. Back then, it was an alternative to ff.net after they purged NC-17 stories from their archive. Het and slash fics were permitted. But obviously, during these last two years, they changed their rules and now, they lump slash stories together with bestiality and pedophilia. These stories are not allowed now there:

a) Rape
b) Incest
c) Paedophilia
d) Bestiality
e) Slash or derivations of slash.

I was asked to remove my stories because they border on slash. My reaction?

"I'm asking you to delete my account immediately - I would do it myself but I don't know how. I have no desire to stay a member of a community that compares gay relationships to bestiality or pedophilia. I've been a member of your archive for more than two years and now, I'm ashamed of it!"

The admin was really surprised how I came to think that they compare slash to bestiality. I pointed her to their own rules. Obviously, they are convinced that slash means NC-17. Obviously, they think that every gay relationship is NC-17 and unsuitable for children.

I'm not sorry to leave that archive. I can understand why ff.net banned NC-17 stories. Banning slash fully is homophobic and retarded and I refuse to support it!

ETA: Okay, according to them, homosexuality has no place in a family friendly place. I feel like crying from frustration.

Obviously, the admin doesn't agree with homosexuality. I told her that I feel sorry for her and it makes me sad that there are so many untolerant people out there, even though it's the 21st century.

Their excuse for not allowing slash is that the archive is a family place and stuff like this doesn't belong there.

Yes, the admin told me that she doesn't agree with homosexuality and that she doesn't have to. So I went to the site, thinking that maybe I understood her wrongly, but there it was in their comm. Somebody asked why they didn't allow slash in their archive anymore. They answered that their archive was a family friendly place and such things had no place there... I couldn't believe my eyes X( But NC-17 het stories are allowed. Of course. I told the admin that I feel sorry for her.

Hold on. What? *works to get any remaining water out of ears* Did I just hear that right? G rated homosexual pairings are not 'family friendly' yet NC-17 rated heterosexual pairings are? On what planet?

Now I'm tempted to pop on to complain about the family unfriendly het p0rn and other such things that would make Disney cringe.

Yup, NC-17 hetero stories are allowed. Well, the God said "procreate" after all, right?

I wouldn't have minded if they said that they turned the archive into het archive only. God knows that there are a lot of slash only archives out there. What raised my hackles was that they consider homosexuality not suited for children which is obviously homophobic. That's what got me so pissed!

Are you telling me they're okay with NC17 het stories but, say, G slash is not? Because, God, that kind of hypocrisy and bigotry drives me up the wall. Either you want to keep the place 'family friendly' and only accept G rated stories from all genre or you don't accept any - and if you only accept one of the two, at least have the courage to stand up to your prejudice and don't pretend to be protecting kids!
