Title: Too Late For Tears

Notes: This is an AU coda for ep 2x01. There are slight spoilers for said episode. As I said in my ep review, I wanted to see Henry pay for what he had done. This would be the perfect scenario...


Stroke. Aneurysm. Government experiments…

They were the rumors that spread like wildfire, the people of Eureka whispering among themselves on the streets and in the supposed privacy of their homes.

But only Henry knew the truth. Only he knew what caused sheriff Carter’s sudden collapse, the massive hemorrhaging in his brain. He knew because he had caused it.

And sitting by his best friend’s hospital bed, squeezing the lax fingers, eyes fixed on Jack’s face, Henry whispered, his soft voice almost drowned by the hissing of the machines that kept the comatose sheriff alive: "I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to."
