So, my troubles with MediaMax continue.

After 6 months, they finally sorted out my credit info - I had to write them only 3 times! It was all "no, everything is okay" and "your bad" etc., until I told them that I won't re-new my account if this continues. And suddenly, it was "oops! our fault" and wham! I have 50 GBs more in my account.

Now, their upload doesn't work. None of the files that I've uploaded during the last 7 days showed up in my File Manager. I wouldn't mind that much if I didn't use my MM account as a back-up for my work-related files!

As long as the company was all Stremload, everything worked just fine. But no, they had to go and merge with MediaMax and the crap hit the fan. Then they sorted it out somehow - took them only a couple of months - and now, it's the same thing all over again because they are moving to Chicago! Sheesh!

Why, or why isn't there an alternative to MediaMax? *whines*

Tell me about it. I'm so frustrated with this service at this point. It's almost a month since they did whatever nonsense they did with the servers and I still can't upload anything. Worse, the don't have the courtesy to at least post updates about what they're doing.

Just ... grr!

Well that's something, although it looks like they're promising more down time. :(

That's the one promise they can actually keep!

Yes, it's very frustrating. Especially when you are actually paying for a service that you don't receive. I so wish that someone would take them to the court and sue them for business losses because during the whole MM shifting, it was made known that even companies like online auction houses use their site for storing pictures etc. I remember that someone even threatened them with a lawsuit.

I found out this week that they're been reported to the Better Business Bureau for fraud. Apparently the downtime isn't the only problem they're having. Several people have complained about them over-charging people's credit cards.

Supposedly things will be getting better, according to their blog.

We’ve corrected most of the issues that resulted from the transition. The last hurdle is to improve upload speeds. Tonight we will begin utilization of a new SAN that will push us towards that goal. There will be no downtime involved. We realize that many users are experiencing upload processing of many hours. Rest assured that your uploads are on their way. We apologize for the delays.

I'll believe it when I see it!

HOURS?! *snorts* More like days. They so don't even have a clue what's really going on *rolls eyes* But yeah, HOURS looks much more "minor trouble" than DAYS.

From what I've heard, a lot of folks have problems with that one.

This site used to be really great. An excellent way to share stuff without checking if the links are still valid. But now... I'm so disappointed :(
