... why does everybody expect the slashers to be courteous towards non-slashers (hiding manips/thoughts/feelings/fics behind cuts etc.) but not the other way around? Just because some social throwbacks still think that homosexuality is a disease that can be cured slash fans should feel dirty? Please, there are no gay cooties people can catch. Homosexuality is a genetic condition, like blue eyes. Please, it's the 21st century, people! Sex is SEX, something people (and dolphins) do for pleasure, not only for procreation, for pete's sake! And if it's a heterosexual couple or a homosexual couple, perfect strangers or siblings, as long as the sex is consensual, it's their damn business what they do in their bedroom!

Funny you mention at this time:

May 17th has been chosen as the day of IDAHO - an abbreviation of ”International Day Against Homophobia” - because on this date, in 1990, homosexuality was finally removed from WHO’s (World Health Organization) International Classification of Diseases.

Honestly. -.- *kicks random people* Not only judging people based on skin color, but going so far as to judge on who they're attracted to. Humanity will kill itself one day.

Is it sad to hope that humanity will kill itself? The majority is so stupid. -.- (No offense meant to those of you who are, y'know, smart and actually give a care about other people.)

I think it's inevitable. *cough* Humanity's stupidity knows no bounds. (No offense taken, of course. X3 We like to think we're smarter than that ne? >.>)

I just don't understand how people can be so ignorant even though it's the 21st century already... *shakes head*

People fear those who are different? They say history repeats itself after all. People never learn. -.-

If somebody tell me that it is genetic condition I would probably be very furious. However we must deal with the fact that the heterosexual behaviour is behaviour of the majority and as such it must be faced. The reproduction is ultimate goal of the species and yes homosexuality is hardly called way to reproduction. It is alternative life style and as such it must be dealt with.It is like different religion or political opinion, the wise person even iwith different lifestyle , religion or political opinion will leanr and understood the difference and if that difference does not invade his own integrity. It is all about the mind. I must confess I am sometimes fed up with slashers and their over romantic view of homosexuality. THe happy go lucky yaoiland is not reality and they even try to indulge some homosexula experience even if they are straight as ruler. Well it is tragicomic at least but, it must be respected, part of their choice:)

I find that the tendency for the overly romantic 'all flowers and hearts and all is happy and good land' aproach is not just a slash problem. I've seen it enough in het stories to make me gag on the sweatness and light.

And while I respect the fact that some people don't like slash and might find it offensive, I don't resect the fact that they can't seem to respect the fact that some people *do* like slash and *don't* find it offensive. I'm not forcing anyone to read my stuff; they don't like, they can not look/read. Why should I go out of my way and hide like it's a dirty little thing when it isn't? This isn't the Victorian era where all things dealing with bodies and their functions must be hid to protect 'delicate sensiblities'

I think it depends on the plot and authors ability to write something logical. It can be sweet and it can be brutal but it must be redeable if not the mood is irrelevant. I like het as well as slash if it is well written:)

Yes I agree with you. It is all about respect and I think talking about certain themes must be well placed. It is impossible to discuss the basic of aviation with housewife whose life is concerned just around her husband and children and viceversa. Simply talk with whom who is interested:)
