You know, there are a lot of TV series I'm watching but I'm kinda losing interest in some of them. They just don't feel as good as they used to. I'm not saying that they ARE not as good, they just don't FEEL as good. Sounds weird?

Maybe I was just spoiled by Supernatural because that series has everything: angst, humor and especially love - it doesn't matter if you consider it incest-ish or brotherly. And when I compare other shows to it, I find them wanting. Numb3rs? Heroes? I used to really love these shows and I thought this infatuation would prevail but I was wrong.

In the case of Numb3rs, I miss the brotherly relationship between Charlie and Don. I mean, if you didn't know that they were brothers, would you even guess? They don't even hang out with each other anymore. Charlie talks to Dad, Don talks to Dad. But if there is no case at hand, Don doesn't talk to Charlie or vice versa. They are acquaintances at the best, nothing more. I mean, take a look at the very beginning of the series. It was so different with the boys learning something new about each other every ep, be it small things. Now, Colby is a better brother to Charlie than Don. I don't know if it's because the actors who play Don and Charlie don't like each other or something but the chemistry is not there. As I said, Supernatural spoiled me!

And Heroes? I really liked that one. But now, it feels like they have no idea where it is heading. They keep piling up the mysteries and killing the characters but we rarely learn anything ground-breaking. I think that's the reason why I don't like Lost, another show like that. As Eric Kripke said, the ongoing mysteries are rather frustrating. I like series where every episode is a story in itself. Yes, there are arcs but you don't feel like you're watching a soap opera. Maybe that's why I can't get into series with a lot of characters. There are so many of them that the writers simply can't dig deep enough and flesh them out enough and that's too bad.

And since I'm talking about TV series, did you hear that CW gave the green light to a pilot for a series called Reaper? It's about a 21-year-old boy who finds out that his parents sold his soul to the devil when he was born and now he has to collect the souls that escaped from Hell for the devil himself. Hello? Brimstone and The Collector anybody? And get this: The guy's name is SAM Oliver! One demon-hunting Sam is not enough for the CW? O.o This makes me really worried because it sounds like they are fishing for a series that would be similar to Supernatural. Way too similar. I just hope that they won't axe SPN for the sake of this one.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] agt_spooky posted the airing schedule for SPN: Three weeks of re-runs, then one new ep and another three weeks of re-runs before we get the rest of the series? That's ridiculous, really. Not to mention frustrating!

It is natural i think and you should not be frustrated because of it. TV series are going in and out:)
