It's done! Finished! Over! I can throw it away and never look at it again! And what? Fiona McIntosh's "The Quickening" trilogy. Almost 1800 pages of pure crap and whining, of imbecile heroes and pointless torture, of men who think with their southern regions or don't think at all, of women who are "petite" and "breath-taking"... I'm so happy that I could cry now... I do love my job but books like these make it really hard. Please, deliver me of Fiona McIntosh. May I never see another book of hers again!

*cheers* You did it! *lol* After all you wrote about her books I'm really tempted to have a look at one of them. Just to have a good laugh. But I understand that it must have been hard for you since it was work not fun.

Usually, I spend approximately one month translating one book. And let me tell you, one whole month of such a crapiness is bad, but three? I thought it would surely kill me XP

I'm afraid she will... sooner or later. My boss bought another trilogy of hers... I thought I would have a heart attack when he told me X(

I think he decides to torture you and well I think it will be fine and perhaps she will make her hero little bit inteligent :)

She is dreadful, I'm happy you got through it. It's bad enough when the book stinks but it's even worse when it stinks for 1800 pages! Even good writing will try my patience when it drags out for three or more books. I've gotten to where when I pick up a book and read the dreaded "BOOK I of the >insert trendy fantasy/vampire/crime/sci-fi/whatever< blurb, I usually put it back. It's a rare author who can write a work that can keep my interest for three books.

You know her books? I was afraid that it was just me but then I went and read some of the reviews on Amazon.com. I was relieved to find out that it was not just me, that there were other people who didn't like her books (to put it mildly) XP
