I can't even tell how much I enjoy XXXHolic. From the very OP to the previews. The song during the OP is so catchy! (I will have to download that one) And in this anime, I don't even mind the animation style (I really didn't like it in Tsubasa Chronicle). It just fits here.

And the seiyuus... That's another thing that simply fascinates me. Fukuyama Jun as Watanuki does a great job! I didn't know that he voiced characters in Gakuen Heaven (Keita) and Princess Princess (Toru) too! *izinlove* But here, here he's exceptional. All the nuances of Watanuki's personality are there. You don't even have to be looking at the monitor and you know exactly when Watanuki's talking to Himawari-chan and when to Doumeki. To be honest, at first, it were the voices that held me completely smitten. And they still fascinate me (again, I have to mention how I hate the seiyuu's in Tsubasa Chronicle; Fai and Kurogane are great, but Sayoran and Sakura... bleh XP).

I decided to switch subbing groups again. At first, I watched the subs done by Shinsen, but now, they are awfully behind :( So, I switched to Kyuu but theirs are not of the best quality. And so I downloaded the latest ep subbed by Mishicorp and this one si great. I love the black type they use for Mokona.

This anime still reminds me a lot of Petshop of Horrors. Especially the monkey arm ep - which was like so creepy *shudders* But the red thread of destiny was good - particularly Yuuko's comment at the very end XD

*squees* Watanuki... Yuuko and Doumeki! Such a lovable cast. xxxholic really is exceptionally good. I put the OP on my mp3-player and listened to it for a hundred times already. I can upload it for you if you like.

I'm not that happy with the anime, though. I have read too much of the manga before it started and it feels different watching the story play out. Reading the manga was more fun. Perhaps I'm just too spoiled to go into hypermode at every episode.

But Fukuyama Jun is definitely a reason to keep watching. After the movie was released by Shinsen I was already convinced that he is the best coice to voice Watanuki. All that bitching and bickering with Doumeki is just like I imagined it. It's really Fukuyama Jun's season this year, all the other characters are really interesting as well.

I downloaded the first 7 volumes of XXXHolic scanlated but haven't read them yet. If I should choose between the anime or the manga genre, I generally go for anime. Moving pics with voices are much more interesting. And especially in this case. Fukuyama Jun is perfect for this role!
