Books and Anime, Anime and Books

I've finally finished watching Ginban Kaleidoscope and let me tell you that this is one of the most touching stories I've ever watched. It starts as a hilarious comedy but do have a really large box of tissues handy because the last two or three episodes will make you cry your eyes out for sure. If you are expecting to see a story with a happy end then this anime is not for you. But that can be expected when at the beginning, Pete dies in a plane crash and kinda ends up possessing the figure skater Sakura. She is a rude girl who doesn't really care about others but thanks to Pete she learns how to smile and appreciate the life. But since Pete has only 100 more days to "live" inside Sakura, their parting is inevitable. And let me tell you that their parting scene on the frozen lake with snowflakes falling is one of the most beautiful scenes I have ever seen in an anime. But at the same time it WILL make you cry buckets, really. So, I recommend this anime wholeheartedly to anybody who likes sport anime and doesn't mind crying while watching it.
And I also started watching Meine Liebe Wieder. Wow! This one is way better than the first "season" of Meine Liebe. More intrigue and the story seems to be more... touching, I would say. The characters seem kind of deeper, more fleshed out. But that may be just me. Lui is still his cold, sarcastic self. Naoji the quiet guy whom everybody likes. Camus is girlier than ever but so cute at being that way that you can't blame him. Edward is still hot with his tanned skin and he is still inseparable from Orpherus who continues to try to shoulder everybody's problems and remains his aloof brooding self. But I like the fact that we get to know their families better too and I hope that this anime will keep getting more and more interesting!
I've received the first batch of books I ordered from Amazon. Wen Spencer's "A Brother's Price" and "Alien Taste". They are not gay books but they seem to be rather interesting. I can't wait to read them!

Date: 2006-03-01 11:00 pm (UTC)have you watched full moon wo sagashite? I laughed so hard for 40 eps i cried, and for the last twelve wept like I was going to die.
it's shoujo but has lots of tiny yaoi hints (wakaouji and Takuto were lovers at one point, i'll swear to it) and has catboi's, i so recommend it.
