Cinema: Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

katikatJust saw The Scorch Trials. Things I loved:
a/ That Thomas has always been the MVP, even before he ended up in the maze, that it was he who started it all and that the maze was his punishment.
b/ That Thomas will go after WCKD because of Minho - first and foremost - and also because of all the other people they lost or might lose. Because of friendship and not in any way or shape or form because of Teresa.
c/ That Teresa did what she did, however despicable, for what she considered the greater good, not for one person.
I loved that the characters’ motive were much clearer in this movie compared to the book, just like the reason why WCKD needed the immunes, as many of them as possible. I never really understood that part in the books.
And I now understand why there will be a one year time jump between the movies - I think it will be used to show that Brenda was cured fully, that Thomas is IT, that the enzymes in Thomas’ blood cure permanently, not just for a few months, that he is the Holy Grail WCKD has been looking for. And I love that!
I would give it 8/10. I just love the characters so much.
