On the Anime Front: Love Stage!!

katikatA really sweet, funny BL anime. Though I admit I was more interested in Rei and Shougo than in the main couple, Izumi and Ryouma. Rei fascinated me to no end and I wanted to know more about him. It's too bad that it wasn't confirmed till the last episode that he and Shougo had a fling together - or was it something more?
Though one thing I don't understand: all the press conferences in anime series about film and music stars. Is it really that common in Japan for celebrities to hold stiff press conferences about every little thing in their life - like here, the pictures the paparazzi took of Ryouma and Izumi? Do the stars actually apologize for pictures taken by slimy stalker reporters? Is that really a thing in Japan? O.o I mean, it was in Love Stage!!, Haru wo Daiteita, Gravitation...
Also, there's a manga on which this anime is based. I wonder if it offers more details about the characters... I might try to get my hands on the first volume - it's out in Germany! - and see.
