Finally finished re-watching S1 on DVD and there's a few thoughts I had while doing so:
1/ I honestly don't get why people are so smitten with this season. Sure, it was good, a good set up with some downright hilarious scenes, especially those Stiles centric ones, but other than that? Laying aside the goggles of nostalgia, it really wasn't that good. Scott was wailing "Allison, oh, Allison" all the time. Like ALL the time. Everything, literally everything was somehow solved because of his love for Allison. That was a bit too much for me. Like Peter said to Stile: Scott would help Peter because it would save Allison - Stiles would help Peter because it would save Scott. Huge difference and the imbalance wasn't solved until S3, to be honest.
2/ I hated, literally hated Jackson and Allison's mother. Gosh, there are characters you love to hate - like Kate who was a major psychotic bitch but that was why she was such a great villain - and then there are characters you simply hate, like I hated Jackson and Allison's mom.
3/ I completely forgot how amazing Stiles' storyline in the season finale was. Seriously, I was more interested in Stiles' scenes than in Scott and his Allison issues. I mean, Stiles and Peter, Stiles and Chris, Stiles and his dad... Those scenes were amazing. I loved how he handled them, these older, powerful men despite being just a human boy and so scared. I especially loved how he stood up against Peter and then Chris. Wow! Yeah, Stiles will never let fear stop him.
4/ And in the gag reel, was it Dylan who pulled Posey into the whole in the ground? In the bit where Posey exclaimed, "Motherf*cuker!" I think it was him.
So yeah, I still maintain that S3A+B were the best so far, the storylines, the action, even the music. Beautiful. S1 is good but nowhere near as amazing as people claim it to be.
