This one didn't grip me as much as the previous book, maybe because the idea of Guayota seemed too... out there. Also, I didn't like the way Mercy handled Christy - Mercy always held back because Christy was Juan Flores' victim but that didn't change the fact that she was a major bitch and I didn't like that Mercy allowed her to run rampant in her home, family and pack. She should've told her off more sternly. I was disappointed in Mercy this time around.
What I loved was Warren and Kyle - as usual - Joel, Tad, Gary Laughingdog and his connection to Mercy and, of course, Coyote. Oh, and the walking stick, naturally!
