"Good Omens" by Terry Pratchett & Neil GaimanRating: ♦ ♦ ♦
Objectively, I understand why this book's been so popular, reaching a cult status. But personally, I was rather bored by its episodic nature. Yes, it was funny that a lory driver was hit by a flying tuna fish (or whatever fish it was), but I was more interested in the fate and the background of the main characters. I guess I'm just not cut for Neil Gaiman's writing. He has great ideas but I think I have a problem with his style (I didn't enjoy "American Gods" until I started skipping the introductory short stories at the end of each chapter, I wanted to know more about Shadow, not some random god). So yeah, I wished it focused more on Crowley and Aziraphale because these two and their bickering were my favorite parts.
To sum it up: a funny book that won't get you too emotionally invested.
