A good idea, I guess, but a very poor execution.

I didn't like one character in the movie. The tension between Michael and Gabriel was the highlight of the movie for me. Everybody else... The main hero was a simple minded hillbilly who pined after a pregnant girl who couldn't even tell who the father of her child was. There was a bratty teenager - I mean, of course there was - a bible thumper, a wannabe "gangsta", a hysterical housewife and a drunk. One character more interesting than the other. Only not.

And Syfy now plans to turn this movie into a series. God knows why, but whatever. I just hope they reboot it with more interesting characters. That they make Charlie Sarah-Connor-like and Jeep will finally start being more assertive, instead of all "aww, shucks, pa."

And what's with Paul Bettany and all the religious parts he plays? I know that he was asked about it and he said that he wasn't religious himself, that it just happened. But, sheesh on a pogo stick, it's happening a lot to him O.o
