Tour of Duty 115+116+117
Jul. 11th, 2015 12:17 amSoldiers... where Purcell's dad gets a heart attack and Purcell, Ruiz and Taylor go to Honolulu on an R&R. Pretty much a "soldiers go normal" story with all its up and down. I loved the storyline with the Japanese American taxi driver in this ep.
The Gray-Brown Odyssey... where Myron's blinded in an explosion in the bush and Horn, the only surviving member of his team, has to go for help, leaving Myron with a female VC prisoner. The story of Myron and the VC fighter's trek through the bush is really heart-tugging. But I was more interested in Horn and the way he took care of Myron. He was so gentle with Myron, so protective of him, he even threatened to kill the VC if she hurt Myron - and Horn is a devout pacifist! If Horn isn't at least a tiny bit smitten with Myron, I'll eat my hat, I swear!
Blood Brothers... where heroin runs rampant at Firebase Ladybird and Myron's father, General Goldman, arrives for inspection. Gosh, seeing Myron in ep 116, compared to his attitude in 101, is really something. In the first episode, he was all about following orders, not matter what. In 116, he defies a direct order to save his men's lives, even though he knows he will be court-marshaled for it. It's really amazing to watch the platoon now, when they know they can count on their LT 100%. Also, Zeke's LOOK when Myron explains to him why he and his father don't get along, that Myron's mother committed suicide and the general didn't show one ounce of feelings...
