You know what's awesome? That Arthur and Merlin are real men now. And by that I mean the actors are finally playing characters of their own age, what with all the time jumps. I love how strong Arthur looks, not just muscled but solid. And that Merlin doesn't look as gaunt anymore, the added weight helps a lot. So, so lovely...

... and reveals some previously unknown tidbits about Benedict Cumberbatch's character:

"So this movie doesn’t require you have seen the first movie," says Abrams. "The characters are a group of people who have recently come together and find themselves up against this incredibly terrifying force. Vague spoilers! )

"I love movies that are big and unabashedly a huge fan of big pop mass appeal movies. I do love that. I love being in a theater packed with people and everyone gasping at the same time and having that communal experience. I don’t like going to the movies to feel bad. I don’t like going to the movies to feel depressed and feel diminished. The reason you go to the movies is to feel bigger and stronger and happier. So this is a movie that they certainly go ‘Into Darkness,’ but I would be the wrong director if it was about characters staying there. This is very much a movie about hope, about love, about romance, and about facing something that is truly terrifying and finding a way through the connection of your family and surviving and being stronger afterwards."

That sounds really, really, REALLY good, doesn't it? I can't wait to see the movie. I loved the first one and I can't wait to see Enterprise's crew again - but what I find most intriguing is Benedict's character. There are very few actors who can convey such intensity with just a look alone!

I completely forgot how funny this movie was. I mean, Simon Pegg is always funny but Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner? A much less common occurrence. The movie is so fast paced and hilarious and beautifully shot, it's definitely my favorite part of the series.

My favorite scene is still the "And you are JUST an analyst, right?" bit between Ethan and Brandt. And then the one at the end, when Brandt confesses who he really is, what he has done. Who would've thought that Jeremy Renner and Tom Cruise would have so much chemistry, huh?

And you know what I love about Paula Patton? She looks like she could really kick a man's ass. She's tall and broad-shouldered, a real athletic type, no precious flower. I hate it when TPTB are trying to convince me that a slip of a girl could kick a body-builder's ass.

I hope the whole team will be back for MI5. These characters clicked. Don't separate them/add anyone else. Don't try to shake up things that work!

And I'm caught up on S1, go me! Every time I watch it, I have to laugh because everybody and their uncle thought this would be one of the first shows canceled last year. And it ended up being one of NBC's most successful series. LOL!
