I'm going to see TDKR tomorrow. Tickets are already booked! I'm actually really looking forward to it, still mostly because of JGL and Tom Hardy! And look what I stumbled across on Amazon UK...

The novelization of TDKR. If I like the movie and JGL's character, I see myself buying it ASAP to tie me over till the DVD is out.

Peeps, do you think I will like JGL's character and what happens to him? No spoilers, just your opinion. You know me and what I like. Will the ending make me happy in that regard? [livejournal.com profile] sharona1x2? [livejournal.com profile] nomango? [personal profile] kansouame? Anyone? I've seen people bash the ending and it makes me a bit worried...

Nightwing

I decided to get a Nightwing comic book. So far, I've been buying Marvel comic books only and I thought it was time to read some DC stuff too. I went looking on Amazon and... Ł36 for a used copy of "A Knight in Blüdhaven"? Ł70 for a new one? Are they NUTS? So, I got my hands on it in a... different way *shifty*

And in the process, I stumbled across a very interesting bit of info: I didn't know that Nightwing AKA Dick Grayson was the victim of a female-on-male rape. That quite shocked me, to be honest. I'm used to seeing non-consensual sex in manga but in a comic book?

Spoilers. And me being annoyed by rape-related stereotypes in our society! )

"It's Automatic" by weatherfront, read by pennyplainknits | Arthur/Eames | Beautiful, dirty, rich, ambitious, lost, found, running, chasing, young, immortal, out of time, out of breath, one summer, in Taipei, in love, so in love. | 32min.

"When you first started to love me," says Arthur, "you decided I would break your heart. And that's all you're waiting for now, Eames. You're just waiting for me to break your heart. But not everyone loves like you do, so quick and hot and sure of yourself, because not everyone knows themselves like you do. The way you know yourself to turn into everyone else. Usually, people-- what I mean to say is, I-- I think I know what I want, and then I lose it again, and it's a long mess more than anything else, Eames. It's confusing and it's frustrating."

Aww... Just, aww... Why don't people just talk to each other instead of assuming they know what the other one thinks/wants?
