I did a little flist cut, approximately 10 people who either a) haven't posted anything in months and their LJ seems abandoned, b) never friended me back or c) with whom I haven't talked or shared anything in months. No hard feelings, folks, no offense, we just seem to be worlds apart...

Also, I bought a new cellphone today, the cheapest in the store, Nokia 100 Phantom Black, it cost me just Kc650! But it makes me so happy. It's a sweet little thing that does exactly what I want it to: lets me call people and send SMS, that's all I need considering I work from home and am at the computer 7 days a week.

My old cellphone, Siemens CT70, has served me faithfully for 7 years, I love it and it's still working flawlessly - just the battery is draining way too fast, I had to keep charging it every other day. And since the phone's so old, a new battery isn't available anymore... Well, I will keep it as my emergency phone, just in case my or my mum's cellphone goes haywire.

There's a lovely interview with Mark Gatiss where he talks about his family and how they took his being gay and about his husband: link. It's rather old news, from 2010, but I just stumbled across it and the way he talks about his hubby made me go all aww...

I met Ian online. He spelled everything so well – I said to myself: "This is the man for me." We spent most of our first chat talking grammar. I knew I wanted to see him again. He said coolly: "I like to keep my cards close to my chest." But he rang me the next day.

I admire Ian's patience. I get very cross. I've learned to talk things through with Ian before I do anything I'll regret. We row very rarely. We've weathered several storms but it's not about huge drama any more. I think we all have an imaginary world where we envisage ourselves like Burton and Taylor, Verlaine and Rimbaud – extraordinary highs, devastating lows.

We got married in Middle Temple, in the City of London, underneath a portrait of Edward Carson QC, the man who prosecuted Oscar Wilde. The whole day was replete with irony.

Especially the last part made me kind of LOL. That's so much HIM!

Legolas & Gimli, Lord of the Rings

When I decided to write about these two, I went pic hunting and stumbled across this wonderful - and hilarious - summary of their relationship that describes them better than I ever could: link.

They’re the quintessential odd couple: one’s a bulbous-nosed, overly hairy Dwarf with an axe obsession and an irascible outlook on life; the other’s an impossibly pretty Elf who’s all air and grace. Their races are deeply suspicious of each other and, keeping to this habit, there’s not much love lost between the two when they first meet in Rivendell. However, during the course of the books (or the films, if you prefer John Rhys Davies and Orlando Bloom’s versions of their characters), a curious tolerance springs up between the two unlikely pals until they end up firm friends, competing in battle, having drinking competitions and trading comical insults.

In the books, Legolas and Gimli remain together for years and travel Middle-earth in each other’s company. It’s like Romeo and Juliet, but with a happy ending. And more Orcs.

LOL! Gimli and Legolas as Romeo and Juliet *giggles*

Oh, this summary is a part of SFX's SF & Fantasy’s Great Bromances: link. I also liked Merlin & Arthur and Kirk & Spock & McCoy! :)

So, it's official, Marvel's upcoming new project, scheduled for 2014, is the adaptation of Guardians of the Galaxy: link.

Concept art for the movie!

I don't know anything about this comic book or its heroes but the more awesome space based movies we get the better!

And the titles of their comic book sequels were revealed too: link.

Iron Man 3 - LOL, that's easy to remember, right?
Thor: The Dark World - yummy! I wonder what worlds Thor and his pals will visit!
Captain America: The Winter Soldier - *high-pitched dolphin noises*

I love Thor's character best but I'm looking forward to Cpt. America's movie most now that its title was revealed! *bounces like a bunny on crack* They're giving us The Winter Soldier! For real! EEEEEEEEEEEE! It's all I ever wanted from the sequel. I hope Sebastian Stan will be back, that they don't recast his part because that would miff me like few other things! So... THE WINTER SOLDIER!

I'm watching this show totally out of order but whatever! It's hilarious either way. I think the only storyline I don't like is the Evil! Will Wheaton one. That just doesn't click for me.

My favorite character is still Sheldon. His comments are pure gold...

While filling out Penny's paperwork in the ER: Cause of Injury: Lack of Adhesive Ducks.

Talking to Raj: You're afraid of insects and women. Ladybugs must render you catatonic.

This show is made of pure love. And chocolate. And whimsical ducks with umbrellas! \o/

So far, I've been VERY disappointed with the Merlin S5 spoilers. I mean, so much that I actually considered dropping the show. Out of everything that has popped up on the net so far, only ONE thing made me excited...

The Merlin cast and crew at Comic Con 2012

Spoilers! )

ETA: There's a short vid from the panel here: link. Apparently, Colin was filming the whole thing for Bradley who couldn't be there. Hehe.
