The more people bash something, the more pro-this-thing I become - and the more hyped something this, the more it turns me off. Yes, I'm contrary like that. Right now? I'm becoming a big fan of...

Kristen Stewart!

I think she's very, very beautiful and a good actress. And the more crap I see people heap on her, the more I like her. She seems like a genuinely nice, introverted person. Her cast mates from SWATH, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron, talk about her with genuine warmth, like when Chris mentioned she showed him a private copy of her new movie and he thought she was amazing in it.

So yeah, no bashing her in this journal. You don't like her? Good for you, keep it in your LJ. This journal is now pro-Kristen Stewart!

Wow, the attention to detail is staggering! O.o

If I were a toy collector, I would grab these immediately. Wonderful!

"Leave the Signs and the Sirens" by out_there, read by podlizzie | Post TGG | Sherlock/John | After John's released and back home at Baker St, Sherlock still feels it. Down the centre of his chest there's an ache like a healing wound. A physical awareness of a body he usually ignores as much as he can. It's psychosomatic, nothing more interesting than that. | 2hr. 35min.

The denim under Sherlock's cheek is warm and soft, and smells like John's detergent. Sherlock lets his eyes close again. John's fingers keep stroking his hair, a loose, careless motion that makes Sherlock wonder how long John's been doing it. It's a habitual gesture of John's: John tends to run his fingers along the armrest of the armchair when he's reading a paper; the fingers of his left hand will trace nonsense patterns on his knee while he's watching telly. John touches mindlessly, carelessly, without conscious thought. Sherlock's observed it many times. He has a few theories on why, the most likely cause is a self-soothing mechanism developed when young, the touch of familiar textures as a way of reducing anxiety. Or it might be a developed gesture since John's return, a cover of regular movement to hide shaking hands.

Whatever the cause, the sensation is rather… nice, Sherlock decides.

I already rec'd this one as a fic some time ago, now I'm rec'ing it as a podfic. It's a really, really good and interesting story in which Sherlock deals with PTSD.

Lestrade & Mycroft, Sherlock

Yeah, they haven't had even one scene together in the whole two seasons this show has been on air and yet! And yet they are my second favorite pairing in this fandom right after John/Sherlock. Actually, John/Sherlock and Mycroft/Lestrade are my OTPs and I don't like it when these characters are mixed with someone else. So yeah, no scenes together yet and as you know, I don't like to ship characters who never met or when there's simply nothing between them to ship (see my reaction to all the Clint/Coulson fics that flooded the net before The Avengers), but these two...

As Lestrade told Sherlock in 202: "Look. I don't just do what your brother tells me." And OMG, that got my fantasy running. It was just one, short sentence but it spoke volumes of the relationship between Lestrade and Mycroft. Mycroft gives out orders and Lestrade obeys - more or less willingly but always with a long-suffering sigh, of course. They are so much like Sherlock and John in that regard, maybe that's why I find this pairing so attractive... Also, the fact that Mark Gatiss considers Rupert Graves "dishy" helps too, of course ;P

And there are so many things that fanfic authors can add. How did these two meet? Does Mycroft intimidate Lestrade? Is there something besides Sherlock they have in common? What's their dynamic in bed? They obviously know each other very well. It's a whole new world for the writers to explore!
