I committed a fic. A Fortysomething gen fic dealing with sexual harassment, non-graphic. Would some kind, English speaking soul be willing to look over the grammar and spelling? I would very much appreciate it. It's ~2.200 words.

Can be found here: link. It's not exactly new and it's slightly spoilery but I loved the part where they talked about Matt's involvement in Magic Mike:

Insider: It certainly helps when you talk about putting a speedo on backwards.
Matt: I wish it were a speedo! It's a small equilateral triangle with the thinnest string. It was dark and 5am, I couldn't get it together.

Insider: Tim, what do you think about seeing your friend in that light?
Tim: I can't wait! I can not wait! First in line to buy a ticket!
Matt: Oh god … [laughs]

Insider: I've heard from co-stars that you've got the best moves, Matt. True or false?
Matt: That is so false. Channing [Tatum] is one of the coolest people I've ever worked with and one of the best dancers I've ever seen. His dancing defies the laws of physics. He's 6' 1" and in great shape but moves his body in the most incredible ways. People will be blown away by his dancing in this.

LOL! Tim will so torment Matt with this! You just feel his glee.

Also, I love how fellow actors talk about Channing Tatum. Everybody who ever mentioned him in an interview says what a lovely guy he is. And that's so, so awesome because I really like him and I love to hear that my favorite actors are great people in RL!

Cat's in the Cradle by daas grrl!

Wow, seriously, just WOW! It's a House/Sherlock/Fortysomething Xover vid where Sherlock's House's son and... Did I say WOW?! Not until I saw this have I noticed just how similar House's and Sherlock's mannerisms are. No wonder Hugh Laurie and Benedict Cumberbatch played father and son in Fortysomething!

Go! Watch it! It's really that amazing!

Thank you for the rec, [personal profile] dodificus!

For the final episode of a comedy show, this was really... sad? Well, not sad but full of nostalgia and melancholy. I never liked Pilfrey so the parts with him were quite painful to watch and they pushed my embarrassment squick buttons like whoa, especially the chicken part.

And then Rory and Daniel moved out...

... Which made the relationship between Paul and Estelle, already pretty strained, break. They took their sons' departure really hard, even though the boys moved only a few streets away, they still lived in a walking distance. And even the youngest Slippery, Edwin, was all mopey that his brothers left.

And, you know, I'm still not sure if Gwendolyn was after Estelle or not, in the end. Sometimes, she seemed like a good friend only. Other times, it felt like she was coming onto her. Hm...

Also, the thing with the girls, Laura and Lucy, with them coming back and switching the brothers yet again, Laura getting back together with Rory and Lucy with Dan. It seemed like a happy ending but to me it felt like it couldn't really last. I mean, when you can't decide with which brother you want to sleep... *cringes* They really weren't a long term material.

But the best part? Rory, of course. Even though he moved out, his parents still used him as a sounding board. Both Paul and Estelle masked it as visiting both sons, but they were really there to talk to Rory and it was also him who always ran after his mum when she was upset - yes, I adored it when he called out "Mum!" - or staying behind to talk to Paul, it was always he who asked if they were alright...

And then there was the hug...

... What a lovely scene. I just adored how demonstrative Rory was with his affection in this show. Always touching people, lacing fingers with his girlfriends... Sweet.

Aaaaaaaand I'm done with this show. As I said, the last episode was so full of melancholy that it made me feel a bit sad. I mean, everybody got their happy ending, don't worry, but some of it didn't really click for me - see Rory, Daniel and the girls - and overall, it was wrapped in a much more subdued packaging than the rest of the series.
