First trailer for The Hobbit's out! Link. And it's BEAUTIFUL! The cinematography! The music! The actors!

Martin Freeman will be a hoot as Bilbo Baggins! In the first trilogy, I wasn't all that interested in the hobbits because I wasn't a big fan of any of the actors playing them. But it's Martin Freeman! \o/ And the dwarves! Aidan Turner looks fantastic as Kili!

Man, this makes me want to a) re-watch the first trilogy, now that I own the extended version and b) actually read the books, now that I own them. Hm, I don't think I have The Hobbit at home, though... I need to rectify that *nods*

In other words: EEEEEEEEEEEEEE! \o/

Lately, I haven't been watching many shows or movies - or actually anything at all, to be honest - because I'm determined to finish listening to the audiobook The Improbable Adventures of Sherlock Holmes before the year's end. It's an anthology of stories with a supernatural theme. But...

It's BORING! Oh my God, it's boring *hangs head* I'm halfway through - still over 10 hours to go, though! - and so far, I fell asleep twice listening to it. Whether you take The Doctor's Case by Stephen King or Commonplaces by Naomi Novik or any other story, you want to weep because of how downright bad the writing is. I mean, King's story was stupid, really, really dumb. And Novik? She sneaked in some slash - but "balanced" it out with Holmes and Irene Adler's boinking like rabbits. These are the stories that annoyed me most, the rest's been mostly forgettable.

Oh, I would be lying. There WAS one exception! Neal Gaiman's A Study in Emerald was great, an alternate universe story set in a world ruled by the monsters and gods from HP Lovecraft's Cthulhu stories. That one was excellent! And there was an amazing twist at the very end that made me go all "O_o Waita minute, there! Back up! What?!"

So yeah. But I'm determined to finish it! I bought the book and I love Sherlock Holmes - even though this anthology made me realize that love sometimes hurt.

So much wonderful Sherlock stuff came out in the past few days, it must be Xmas!

3 wonderful promos with lotsa new footage!

And another promo, the "punch me in the face" one!

Love it all! But I fear Moriarty will put Sherlock and John through the wringer again. I hope their friendship will come out of it unscathed *crosses fingers* 11 days to go! \o/
