Aaaaaaaaaand I'm all caught up on NCIS:LA...

Spoilers )

You know, I'm feeling a slight shift here. I got into this series because I really loved Callen and Sam - and I still do, believe me. But I'm now more interested in Kensi and Deeks and their partnership. It feels like these two are getting all the "good" storylines lately, if you know what I mean.

Actors doing voice work for Arthur Christmas:

James McAvoy as the energetic Arthur...

... and Hugh Laurie as his older brother Steve.

Sweet! I can't wait to see the film!

Finally started watching The Vampire Diaries. Tonight, it was Pilot and The Night of the Comet.

Boy, the pilot was cringe-worthy *winces* No wonder that three years back, I watched it and never came back. Chock full of pathos and teenage angst and bad lines. Ouch. It's good that I know from various reports and reviews that it actually does get good in future episodes. The best part of 101? Ian Somerhalder and the introduction of Damon, hands down.

Ep 102 was much, much better. And I'm loving Damon, he's so devious and his one-liners are to die for, excuse the pun. And, you know, knowing what's behind it, knowing how Damon really feels about his brother, it gives the whole story another dimension. Also, I actually like all the characters. Well, I could do without Matt and his sister, but I don't actually mind them, you know?

I plan to finish S1 before Xmas because I bought S2 as a gift for myself, on DVD, I mean. So far, I like it.

Wonderful episode, though very, very sad. I can't even imagine living with such a guilt as Hathaway carried. I mean, he was studying to be a priest, he was just saying what they taught him to say, but what it lead to in the end...

I loved how completely nonplussed Lewis was by homosexuality - when he said that if his own son was gay, it wouldn't change anything, I cheered! What a wonderful man.

The scene where Lewis and Hathaway had their first real fight, with shouting and hand-waving and blaming - that actually hurt. It hurt to see how betrayed Lewis was by Hathaway's secrecy, by his lies. Lewis didn't mind all the stuff around, but he couldn't handle that Hathaway lied. Lewis would've covered for him, he would've helped him! But instead of coming clean, Hathaway lied... Ouch.

And the fire, Lewis rushing to Hathaway's rescue... Loved it!

As sad as it was, there were some funny quotables there:

Lewis: Apparently, we're using too many paperclips. I've been reprimanded by Stores.
Hathaway: I'll take it very seriously, sir. From now on I'm a staples man.

Lewis: I bet that means something in Latin.
Hathaway: What makes you say that?
Lewis: This is Oxford. Everything always means something in Latin.

The most interesting thing for me was the scene in the car, when Lewis asked outright if Hathaway was gay and Hathaway answered spoilers! ) I would love to see that explored further.

My favorite guest character? Nova Rose. That girl kicked major ass, figuratively!
