... Yet here I am. I stumbled across a few really gorgeous ones:

"A Human Behavior" by anon - the one where Erik's a mutant overlord and Charles is an earnest human teacher.

"Guided Missiles and Misguided Men" by anon - the one where human!Charles advocates for mutant rights and Magneto doesn't know what to think of this strange man.

"Come As You Are" by anon - the one where Charles used to read Jane Austen to a comatose Erik.

Why do I do this to myself? *tears at hair*

"Fireflies" by de-nugis | Gen | Oberon claims Dean. Sam gets him back. | ~3.500 words

There’s been so much blood, but now it’s just phlegm, boiling in his chest. He coughs. Sam holds him up, propped against his chest. Sam’s gotten so big.

“Sorry, Sammy,” Dean says. “Gotta go. I’ll bring you a firefly.”

“Asshole,” says Sam. His voice sounds funny. “You can’t die on me and then apologize with a bioluminescent insect.”

Awesome! So much brotherly love... As much as I adore Castiel, this is the heart of the show: Sam, Dean and their love.

"Eclipse (The Twilight Saga #3)" by Stephenie Meyer

3 stars out of 5

This book has quite an interesting storyline - the murdering vampires in Seattle - unfortunately, it's partially ruined by too purple a prose in many instances. I understand that the love between Bella and Edward is THE thing, but I really did not have to have it repeated on regular basis, tinted by Bella's rose-colored glasses. It was unnecessary and way over the top. I did love the Cullens and the stories of the werewolves from La Push, them working together, the story of the Volturi - those were incredibly interesting storylines and I wish Meyer had focused more on them...

Comic Book Movie site posted an interesting article where they talk about the possibility of a XMFC sequel and what various people said about it. My favorite parts?

Much to everyone's surprise, the movie was quite good and performed very well at the box office. Naturally, Fox Studios is thinking franchise and the actors have been discussing the planned trilogy all summer long. (...) Furthermore, with a budget of $150M and a box office revenue of $348,728,454, I'd say a sequel is all but guaranteed.

Well, the budget was actually $160 mil. and with a little luck, it'll gain $350 mil. worldwide before it's pulled. But I love the "all but guaranteed"!

What James McAvoy said:

“Ideally you have a story arc that lasts three movies and at the end of the third it leaves you ready for the story in X-Men 1. It would be nice to explore things in two more films. I’ve lots of ideas. I know Michael and I are very much on the same page all the time and we’ll be weighing in to protect that relationship between the two characters. The next movie, if there is one, shouldn’t just start off with them being pals again, but I think it also shouldn’t be like the first movies only set in the 1960s. If we get another, let’s not just make Magneto the bad guy; of course he’s a bad-ass and of course he has a whole different ethos, but making a movie that is black-and-white is going to lose the thing that we have in this one.”

It makes me happy that James and Michael can add their own and that they want to protect the relationship between Charles and Erik. It just makes me all gooey on the inside!

What Matthew Vaughn said:

“I’ve got some ideas for the opening for the next film. I thought it would be fun to open with the Kennedy Assassination, and we reveal that the magic bullet was controlled by Magneto. That would explain the physics of it, and we see that he’s pissed off because Kennedy took all the credit for saving the world and mutants weren’t even mentioned. And we could go from there, and I’ve got some fun ideas about what other mutants to bring in. (...) If the film’s a hit, of course I’d be interested. I really enjoyed making it. We will only have one more new character. (...) Because, I think, as Professor X is in a wheelchair, Magneto needs to have a nemesis he can fight with. Someone that will be his equal. I know who it is.”

That has me so intrigued! Man, it looks like he thought about it a lot already! Please, Fox, please, make it happen! Give us bad-ass!Magneto and more Erik&Charles. Please? With a cherry on top? Because, at first, I was a bit nervous that they would ruin the main relationship, that they would sacrifice it for more... I don't know what. But if both Michael and James can weigh in on it - and we all know just how they view their characters' relationship... YAY \o/

Also, I didn't know that Stan Lee, the author of X-Men, wanted to make Charles and Erik brothers! Wow. That would've been awesome in itself! Because I don't have to have slash, a deep, profound bond between two men, a real bromance, is more than enough for me...

So much better! I don't know if it was the arrival of Steve or they somehow got their crap together over the hiatus but this ep was better than 95% of what they gave us in S2!

The New Guy )

Please, keep it up, writers!
