Fast & Furious
May. 31st, 2011 09:40 amYou know, lately, I've been pulling more and more away from the F&F fandom despite having loved the latest movie. I don't know, it feels like nothing F&F related is grabbing my attention anymore.
Most fics written these days are - for some inexplicable reason - Brian/Vince centric and it's not my pairing, like, at all. Not only don't I see it, I actually pretty much hated Vince's guts and didn't get the fans' obsession with him, sorry to say. Matt Schulze might be the greatest guy under the sun - I don't know, I know nothing about him - but his character was so unlikable to me... *shrugs*
And Fast Five was actually... not slashy at all. For the first time since the beginning of this franchise, I saw Brian and Dom only as friends and brothers-in-law because I - believe it or not - really liked Mia in F5! She didn't bitch or whine, she joined her brother and her lover's cons, she did what was necessary to survive and she was generally awesome - I actually found it pretty hot when she drove that stolen car away. Sure, she still was no Letty - but she felt much less... fragile.
So, yeah, I'm really looking forward to the next movie, do not doubt that, but more for the movie itself than for its potential slash, go figure O.o
