In his peripheral vision, Sam saw Dean's hands wrap around his knees and squeeze as he leaned forward. "But none of that means shit. Dean looked as pale as if he'd just been forced to write out those words in his own arterial blood.
Man, Dean's so broken in this fic. I mean, have you ever asked yourself what Dean would be like if he grew up without Sam? I always thought that John Winchester was an ass and this fic just proves it. Told from the POV of Sam who looks at Dean's relationship with his father from the outside and sees clearly what Dean refuses to acknowledge. Amazing.
