Day 30 - Anything SPN related

I'll be attending the Jus in Belo SPN con in Rome next month. Right now, though, all the travel arrangements are sucking all my joy out of it - traveling with people from a different city and all that jazz... Hopefully, it'll go down well *crosses fingers*

Another thing: I hope for season 7! *crosses fingers again*

Aaaaaaaaaand I'm done with the meme!

The rest... )

This episode made me happy and sad at the same time, yet I enjoyed it immensely. Reminded me of Croatoan...

I've never been a fashion enthusiast, but this dress that Julie Stiles wore at the SAG awards is so stunning that it was worth mentioning. Wow, just wow!

"Glimpses" by Lynn Flewelling

This collection of short - mostly erotic - stories fills some blanks in the "Nightrunner" books. But it's not as good. I don't know, I found some of the stories lacking a bit.

"Misfit" tells the story of Seregil's first sexual relationship in Rhíminee and how Seregil became Nysander's pupil. I felt so, so sorry for Seregil in this one. Great story but rather painful to read in places, especially when you know how his apprenticeship ends. 4 stars.

"The Wild" tells the reader about how Alec's parents met. I found it a bit boring. I would like to know why Alec's mother's people wanted to kill him, that's true, but the love story of Amasa and Ireya never interested me much. 2 stars.

"By the River" tells us how Seregil and Micum met. Cute little story. 3 stars.

"The Bond" depicts Alec and Seregil's first night together. Unfortunately, a good half of the story is a word-for-word copy of what happened in "Stalking Darkness". 3 stars.

"The Summer Players" is an excerpt from the upcoming "Nightrunner" book that should come out in 2011. I definitely wanted to read more! 5 stars.

All in all, I expected more but liked it nonetheless. Though I don't think the anthology would have much to say to somebody who hadn't read the "Nightrunner" books first.

To celebrate the season finale that will air on Tuesday, I decided to finally break open my WhiCo S1 DVD box set and watch the extras. So, I listened to the audio commentaries to the pilot and Free Fall.

It was so funny and cute to listen to Jeff Eastin, Tim DeKay, Matt Bomer, Willie Garson and Tiffani Thiessen banter and bicker and generally have a lot of fun while watching the pilot. I loved it when Tiffani asked Matt, watching the scene in June's house where he's walking around only in his pajama bottoms, if he had like only 5% body fat and you could literally hear Matt blush, the way he stammered over his explanation with shadows and mirrors etc. And when he said that yeah, he usually read warrant law half-naked! LOL! And the scene with Peter and Neal driving down the rainy streets - one wouldn't even know it was so dangerous!

It was too bad that Tiffani wasn't there at all and Tim managed to join for just the last few seconds of Free Fall, I would've loved to hear his angle on the whole thing. Like, it was great to find out that a part of one of my favorite banter scenes which takes place during this episode - "What?" "You know what." "No, I don't." "Yes, you do." - was improvised, Tim and Matt ad-libbed it. Or when Peter covered Neal's cuffed hands with his own jacket? All Tim, to show Peter's respect for Neal. And I totally agreed - a lot of Tim's acting is in his eyes, in his expressions.

The actors, they are one huge bundle of joy :) I'm so glad there are no divas on this set!
