Day 29 - Your favorite SPN fanfic

"The Old Gods Return" by [livejournal.com profile] fleshflutter. It's a story inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft and it's scary, atmospheric and it totally wow'd me. It starts with Sam and Dean being asked to retrieve a book that could wake up the Old Gods. And then it gets really scary. Read the warnings though: it's Sam/Dean, non-con, mpreg etc., so it's not everybody's cup of tea. I loved it!

Jesse Stern, Co-Executive Producer of NCIS, wrote in the CBS.com blog:

I was once warned about Michael Weatherly. Lucky for me, I didn’t really understand what the warning meant. The first time I stepped on the set of NCIS was five years ago and there was this creature, this giant ball of energy and laughter and words that might at first appear to be non-sequitors. And he’s running around showing anyone and everyone the video montage he’s made on his phone that recounts his insane, whirlwind, around the world pursuit of a woman he’d just met. All set to a bubbly score. I thought it was nuts. But I watched it. And it made my heart blow up. And I’ll probably never forget it. Especially since a couple summers later I ended up a guest at their wedding. Pretty good little movie. Link

It's so heart-warming, what he had to say about Michael, that you want to cuddle both of them silly. It's so great that they all get along so well, no divas there. And Michael Weatherly must be a blast to work with!

What, you ask? NBC's 17th Precint!

James Callis has signed on to reunite with former Battlestar Galactica‘s co-star Jamie Bamber in Precinct, a supernatural-tinged cop drama produced by BSG boss Moore.

Callis’ character is a homicide detective, while Bamber is playing a crime scene expert. The cast also includes Stockard Channing and Jack & Bobby‘s Matt Long. Link

Lee "Apollo" Adama and Balthar in another show by the BSG exec! I'm really looking forward to it now and I hope that this show helps NBC break their bad luck! *crosses fingers*

ETA: And Tricia Helfer joined too! Link. Wow, that will be some BSG get-together!

Hm...

Today, I watched an episode of Alarm für Cobra 11: Die Autobahnpolizei and I realized just how different this show with its Semir&Ben bromance is from various US shows: Semir and Ben actually show feelings. When one is in danger and is saved, it's not just a manly clap on the shoulder.

In the episode Begraben - Buried Alive - Ben is kidnapped and buried in a coffin. Before Semir and the other cops can get to him, it starts raining, so the coffin is starting to fill with water too. And when Semir actually gets to Ben in time...

Seeing this, their wonderful friendship that in no way endangers their masculinity - the show is THE action show in all Europe, after all - I have to wonder: why do Americans feel so much aversion to men showing feelings?
