Day 2 - Least Favorite Character

Bela Talbot. You cannot grasp the depth of my hatred for that character. I have never hated any character on TV as much as I hated her. She embodied everything I dislike about female characters on TV these days, like her condescension and belittling attitude or her bitchiness that the writers tried to make us believe was "strength". No, just no. When she joined SPN as a regular I was this-close to dropping the show - I have never come closer - and if they didn't get rid of her, I would have, I really would have dropped the series because I just couldn't stand to see her on my TV screen, I skipped all her scenes and I have yet to re-watch any episodes she was in. Gosh, that... that... *hands and shudder*

I'm so happy with this episode. If you rain on my parade, heads will roll, I'm serious!

Fringe didn't murder Supernatural in the ratings last night! SPN got 2.3 mil. and 1.0 demo which is even with its last episode aired in December. Fringe dropped from 1.9 to 1.6 demo, though :( But, as much as I love Fringe, in the showdown between Fringe and SPN, SPN would win any day for me - so, Fringe's drop makes me a bit sad but I'm ecstatic that SPN held its numbers. Hopefully, it'll keep doing so *knocks on wood and crosses fingers for good measure*

For those who don't know these movies, there are 4 of them, based on Richard Stevenson's books. Donald Strachey (Chad Allen) is the one and only out and proud gay private detective in Albany and he lives in a happy marriage with Timmy Callahan (Sebastian Spence) who works as a senator's aide and who usually gets somehow tangled up in Donald's cases. The movies are not just really good mysteries, there's also great gay romance there because Chad Allen and Sebastian Spence have fantastic chemistry and their scenes together are simply beautiful.

Third Man Out: I loved how twisted the mystery was, all the little things that seemed just... there, with no relevance whatsoever, clicked together perfectly in the end. The first time around I saw this movie, the ending really surprised me.

But the most beautiful thing about this movie are Donald and Timmy. All their scenes, from them arguing about the Rutka case to them dancing in the jazz restaurant, were so, so good. Timmy is so prim all the time and his reactions and comments are so incredibly funny. And Donald and Tim are a thing to behold, you literally feel how much in love these characters are (see my icon, it's from this very movie).

And then there was the love scene. Man! It was really short - and cut together with the murder that was happening across the town, a really great contrast there, BTW - and you could barely see anything but it was still amazing. One of the most tender gay sex scenes I've ever seen. It's a real credit to just how great these actors are.

Can't wait to see the other three movies! *bounces*
