Day 30: One thing you would change

I would've never established a connection with Earth. I know that such a prospect would've hurt the writers' collective chicken brain because they would've had to, you know, think up something new, use their imagination to write a consistent story and not use the connection with Earth as some sort of deux ex machina, but I think it would've been awesome. Just imagine it, the expedition losing members and gaining new ones from the various Pegasus societies, identifying themselves more and more as Atlantean, not Earthlings, building a completely new society... And best of all? No IOA medling.

Synopsis... )

Review: I did like the D/s relationship between the main heroes - I very much prefer it when such a relationship isn't just about sex, when the psychological side is described by the author and actually felt by the reader - on the other hand, it's still pretty much a PWP. It's a short-ish ebook but I still expected to learn something more about the main heroes - there were only two characters in the whole story - who they were, where they came from, anything. But the ebook consisted of two rather long sex scenes with some trimmings and that was pretty much it.

So, the D/s relationship was lovingly described but I would've preferred the characters to be more three-dimensional.

Jacksonville: I feel for Olivia, I understand the anger she feels towards Walter. At the same time, I understand Walter and William Bell's reasoning - if they knew that war was coming and they were the only ones who could build an army to stop it... As Broyles said to Olivia, sometimes you're simply left with only bad choices. But the last scene, when she looked at Peter... she looked positively crushed.

Peter: A great background story. When you realize that at first, Walter was the sound one in their marriage... And that most of the bad stuff Peter remembers his father doing was the Walternate, that Walter was a good father. Ouch. And I didn't know that Nina Sharp liked Peter - or used to like Peter? - so much. When they had met in the show for the first time, it felt like they didn't really know each other...

Olivia. In the Lab. With the Revolver: I understand Olivia's need to tell Peter. But I also understand Walter's trepidation. Why do I have the feeling that the revelation won't go down well with Peter? I still wonder who Sam Weiss is...

6 eps to go in S2...
